"You can't marry Ethan Fox, if you're already married to me."
The story picked up exactly where it left us in the first book and it was very intense from the very first moment...
Ophelia is in a bad place mentally and psysically... Ethan's lies had found their mark inside of her and for once again, she doesn't trust Silas and his intentions...
I was frustrated by her, but I can understand that all these manipulations over the years had made a number to her and now she feels that her old time hero is a plain villain who can hurt her like no other since he is having a piece of her heart...
But Silas is proving over and over again in here that he will always be her protector even though she wants to believe otherwise...
"Try to remember I'm not your enemy, will you?"
I love Silas so much...
This man had lost so much in his life, and even though he needs to avenge the man who had made his life a living hell, for Ophelia and the love he is feeling for her, he can put aside his plans and to focus on her best interests...
The first thing he wants to do is to marry her cause if she is married to him, she can not marry Ethan... But Ophelia won't surrender without a battle and still, he is there by her side, battling for the two of us.
"Saving Ophelia is what matters and if I need to be the villain to do it, so be it."
I loved Silas and Ophelia's story...
Their journey was paved with thorns that were cutting deeply, but when there is love by your side, you can face anything... Even the ugly things!!! And they were too many ugly things in here!!! Too many secrets and betrayals... Too many villains after them!!!
These two were meant to be, but love is not always easy... It has to be tested many times to find her rightful place...
And these two had been tested so many times... It wasn't always easy, it wasn't always smooth, but it was magnificent to see them falling for each other!!!
"I don't need you to rescue me anymore, Silas."
"I will always rescue you, Ophelia."
