really liked it

Actual rating 3.6 stars.
I’m not sure how I found out about this story or what I was getting myself into when I started it. Meaning I didn’t have any expectations going in.

I didn’t mind the art. It could be a bit inconsistent, specifically for faces but overall, it was good because it was different.

Besides pairing heroes who normally wouldn’t be seen together, I’m not certain of the point of this tale.
Maybe a commentary on nuclear weapons? Respecting all forms of life?

If reading a story to see characters you like in a different environment interests you, I’d recommend this. Otherwise, it’s probably not necessary reading.

Chris This was one of the first DC comic series is ever read back in the 80s. I had no idea who the New Gods were, the art was odd to me but I couldn’t look away from it. Mignola later became an all-time favorite for me.

This was a time at DC where they loved to publish big event stories that would have ongoing repercussions, but the events in this story fell flat. Green Lantern Stewart had a significant tragedy happen for him in Cosmic Odyssey, but I don’t remember any big Green Lantern storyline growing out of this, or even if there was a regular GL comic at this time.
I would recommend it but it’s not mandatory.

Nice! 😊 Ah, that's good to know. It makes more sense now with that context!
