« For a moment, she almost wondered what that must feel like, a love that weathered the threat of death »
I kept thinking the author was going to say : HA- got you!!! And make it all ok but no. I’m shocked and heartbroken 😭💔 why would she wreck me with that heartbreak of an ending 😭😭
🫀 Healing magic
🫀 Depiction of racism (check the TW)
🫀 Found family/friends
🫀 Murder mystery
🫀 Found romance (they both think they’re among the only heartsooths left)
🫀 Fierce FMC who gets things done (she has made it on my favourite FMCs list)
I randomly bought this book on Owlcrate because the sprayed edges were gorgeous. I had no idea what this book was about. I read this in one sitting.
While I did guess who was the killer from very early on - I never saw that ending coming. I do respect the author’s decision for not going back and changing it. But I’m still super heartbroken because why😭
This book follows Nhika, a heartsooth, whose from a country who suffered a genocide - and she faces a lot of racism. She gets kidnapped and sold to the highest bidder. The person who bought her gets her all tangled up in a murder case.
This was a very unique story and it was very bingeable! I highly recommend it.
