y'all the addicted series is everywhere. it's one of the most known series on booktok and bookstagram. almost everyone i know has at least heard of it. so naturally, i was afraid. while booktok can be a beautiful place for recommendations, it also scares the absolute shit out of me. and unfortunately, it disappointed me with this. i was bored. i didn't feel connected to the characters. everything was so yesterday and i can't remember a single detail. BUT. there is a saving grace. i kept reading and i'm currently on Addicted For Now and am in. love. so there is hope after all.

i just didn't click with Lily in this book. she very much gave my y/n vibes with her she acted sometimes. i just didn't feel like i had enough time to get to know her. it was like she was thrown at me and no one gave me a heads up so instead of bringing out my inner football player, i got smacked in the face.

Lo is everything i've ever wanted in a fictional man. minus the addiction to alcohol. but no one's perfect okay? 😤😤 no but i really liked him. this man was down bad for Lily. the fact that he was willing to do anything to make their relationship real AND work just hit me in the soul. i love him so so so much. if this book had been dual pov it would've for sure been a five star.

at first, i didn't really like Rose. but the more i got to know her, the more i realized how much i saw myself in her. this girl is doing her best in life and everyone else is a bitch to her. if you hurt on my girl Rose i'll fuck you up.

Connor Cobalt i love you. you're kind of a dick but god you're hot.

✎ Ryke
okay this doesn't really have anything to do with anything but this series has made me realize i love the name ryke. i don't know what it is about it but i find it attractive. this man is also an asshole, but in the best way. i like him. i want him. i need him.

she wasn't a constant character but she was a cutie 🌼

fuck her mom, love her dad.

✎ Jonathan Hale
this man needs more therapy than i do. what the hell is wrong with him? that whole scene between him and Lo near the end had me wanting to simultaneously sob and rip my hair out.

🍹 I enjoyed the way that Lily and Lo's addictions were portrayed. i found it to be very realistic and enjoyed how seriously the author wrote about it.

🍹 i'm obsessed with the entire concept. them fake dating for three years and no one knowing but them? the way they took care of and knew absolutely everything about each other? i fucking LOVE the childhood friends to lovers trope and this book ate that up 👩‍🍳💋

🍹 the writing was very fun. it kept me sucked in. while i did occasionally get bored, i was always thinking about Lo and Lily. which i still am at this very moment. i want to know how they'll get better. will they heal together? push each other apart? i don't know. i also haven't read very many books by two authors, not counting Christina Lauren. i think it's really cute two sisters decided to write a book series revolving around sisters and found family together.

🍹 my reason for the 3 🌟 is because as interested as i was, this novel definitely had it's dry spots. one second i was sucked in and the next i had to try not to pick up another book. i will say, this series definitely gets better because right now i am in love.
