Uh oh Snjez... I feared this wasn't what you had hoped for. Sorry... it does sound like 2,5 stars are very generous, though. I'm happy I didn't start this because of the many things you mention that I wouldn't like, most of all that both MCs sleep with other people and that one of them is for the longest time in a relationship.

Jesus Christ. This story already gives me a headache from only reading a summary of it in your review💀🫣 It sounds so stupid and so ridiculous; I’d be rolling my eyes non-stop. Not to mention, I’d never be able to take a relationship like that seriously, or even root for them, no matter how much I might have liked the characters😔 Awesome review, babe!🩷 I hope your next read will be MUCH better <3

Thank you, Angelika! 💗 This started really well, but that particular reveal caught me off guard and it just went downhill from there. Maybe I didn't express myself correctly, but the other MC wasn't in a relationship for a long time, only a couple months, but it was still annoying considering what happened before. I wanted to give this 3 stars, because I really liked both MCs, but the storyline just didn't work for me.

I wish I knew some things going in, but I didn't want to read any reviews before I finished it, so here we are. 😅 Miscommunication was really frustrating in this one, and unbelievable. Too bad, since I really liked the characters. Thank you, Imme! 💗

Thank you, Achim! 💗 I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from reading it, some of my GR friends loved it, but I expected a different development and as it is, it didn't work for me. The other elements I mentioned didn't help, either. I don't regret reading it, I just expected to like it a lot more. I know this author can write a really good friends-to-lovers story.

Exactly! And after reading the author's note, I don't get why she didn't make this story less silly for a character like Stan.

I knew we were thinking the same thing when I saw your reading update. 😅 The story was indeed quite messy and certain things were unnecessary imo, but I liked those two enough to want to continue and I was curious to see how things would play out between them. 😉 Thank you, Em! 💕

Same here! I loved the previous book, and now look at this. 😅 I agree that her books start to feel like the same story with the same type of humor. It does a disservice to characters like Stan and Rafferty. I really liked them.

Thank you for this review. Lily Morton is mostly a miss for me in recent years, so I was hesitant about this one. Now I know for sure to stir away from it. Sleeping with others after being together and OTT miscommunication is a no-go for me. It's such a pity - Lily Morton some of the nest friends to lovers out there

Thank you, Liya! 💗 I also think that LM can write a great friends to lovers story, so I had high hopes for this one. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if their relationship had progressed differently. Reading this was an odd experience, really. I was super invested in the MCs, but I didn't like a lot of things that happened. 😅

But we learn through flashbacks that Rafferty and Stan slept together for like two months, before Stan started the above mentioned relationship. Timelines are a bit weird here, but either way I wish things between them progressed differently. And you're welcome. 😊 (hide spoiler)]

Same! I really enjoyed book 1 and I was looking forward to this one. I'm still glad I read it, because I really like the characters, but it could have been so much better. Sorry to hear it's not working for you, either!

I hope so, too. I regularly check my update feed both on my mobile app and my computer, and it really frustrates me when I find out that GR 'ignores' some of my friends' updates and comments. 😕

I realized that GR had a top friends list and that a lot of the people I talked to most weren’t selected but once I changed that it worked on both the app and the website. But also my friend said her sister only sees her updates not her reviews. For the past couple days whenever I use the app an error screen pops up saying I don’t have access to the page I’m on even if it’s my own review!

I use the top friends list, though most of my GR friends are there 😅, but GR still doesn't show all the updates. Another weird thing - I see some of my friends' updates only on my app, some only when I'm at my computer, some on both and some on neither.
As for the app, I have the same problem. I often can't open certain reviews, mine or my friends', when I get a comment notification. 😣

I felt the same about this one ☝️ The miscommunication lasted way too long. And I agree with all you mentioned.

i’m not looking at the spoilers but this is still disappointing :/ i was initially excited because of the best friends to lovers but i’ve actually seen more mutuals being disappointed as well. hope your next read by this author is better!

Thank you, elena! 💕 I've liked a number of books by this author that have the same trope, so I had high expectations for this one. In short, I really liked both MCs, but not the storyline. Fingers crossed if you decide to read it! 🤞

Sorry this one was a disappointment. I have read a new Lily book in awhile but it seems I'm not missing much.

It seems that many of us didn't like that in this story. 😕 Pity, since I liked the characters.

This book is currently on hold for me and your review pretty much summed up why that is. I barely tolerate friends to lovers on a good day, but mixed in with a hint of second chance(in the worst way) and no communication?? I had to take a break. Here's to hoping I finish it!

Fingers crossed when/if you decide to continue, nick! I'm fine with the tropes, they are some of my favourites, but this still didn't work for me because of the "relationship" development. 😕
