☆2.5 DNF 12% Not terrible, not terribly interesting…I feel like I’ve read it before, but with tighter writing.

Look, if this were my first sports romance with a forbidden attraction and a broken ballerina, I might be into it. Alas, it’s not, and I’m not. Both MCs are likable (especially Asher “Greenflag” Donovan), but their thoughts/feelings are constantly over-explained. I get SO impatient with that, as if it’s really hard to understand the concept of liking someone even though you don’t wanna—so let’s just repeat it again, again. I lost interest after her brother/his rival skips town, taking that key tension with him when the story’s just begun.🤦🏻‍♀️ Soccer/football made a nice change from hockey and (American) football but☝️I do wish I understood AH’s hang up about the word “arse.” 😂 It throws me off to have British characters in England saying “ass.” Kinda like if a bunch of Americans at a Warriors game yelled at the ref to get his “arse” off the court. Really complex thoughts here, folks, you’re welcome. 😇
