“In a different life… I’d love you out loud.”
This book might be my new favorite in the series! Just wow! Emily really outdid herself with this one from the incredible spice to the tear jerking romance.
Let’s start with the romance. It’s a love at first sight, forbidden romance situation and I ATE IT UP! The delicious tension of how badly they wanted eachother without being able to have eachother was borderline painful. The way Enzo falls so hard so fast for Venesa had me swooning! It’s like she eclipsed everything else in his life until all he could see was her. And I’m a sucker for a ‘he falls first’ trope. This book, unlike the others in the series, also had some quotes that were so vulnerable and sweet they had me in tears! Paired with the most heart melting romance was the incredible spice 😏 I have no words!
The plot twists were a bit predictable but I find that I don’t mind because it’s still entertaining and the romance is at the forefront of the story. The way Emily is able to weave in these tiny details as nods to the stories reference, Little Mermaid in this case, is executed seamlessly. I love when I’m able to connect the dots.
Absolutely loved this book and enjoyed every minute of this read.
