** spoiler alert ** I ADORE this series. Alice, our FMC, is the owner of an antique shop on the island of Starfall Point. A tiny tourist attraction in Michigan that shuts down in the winter after the lake freezes. The residents have learned to deal with the harsh winters. Plus it gives them a break from the fudgies. Alice’s life has been sort of crazy after being inducted into SFP’s only coven. Their job is to keep the secrets of Shadow House secret and the island safe from hauntings. A former resident returns and buys the historic hotel after a famous influence runs it into the ground. Colin, our MMC, takes it upon himself to restore the hotel to its former glory. All the while dealing with a crazy ex and money hungry relatives. Alice isn’t any better off, her grandparents are just peaches. If the peaches were rotten and moldy... But together, along with her coven, they’re ready for anything even a deadly face-off with an old enemy.

So glad to finally hear Alice's side of the story. It was missing some of the elements from the last couple stories. Possibly because the plot took a different turn, since Alice was trying to hide some things from her coven and couldn't reconcile herself to just tell them. So there wasn't as much commraderie with the characters that we've seen in the previous two. It's GREAT when Alice finally stands up to her grandparents and tells them off because holy Hades do they deserve it. This was more of a slow burn than some of her other books because of the issues they were both facing, but it was sweet when they finally got together. I also very much appreciated hearing about how everyone else was doing. The ending... omg I was so happy to hear about Plover!!!!! Ghost man deserved a bit of a happy ending. Not completely happy but still good.
