Bursting with laughter, romance, and magic, the Audible and USA Today best-selling Starfall Point trilogy comes to an epic finale that will leave you enchanted!
Alice Seastairs leads a quiet life working in her grandparents’ antique shop and hiding her magical secret from the human world. As one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, it’s her job to protect the Island from dark magic and unruly ghosts—including the ones that show up at her shop attached to antiques. But her orderly life is turned upside down when a gorgeous stranger buys the islands most historic—and haunted—hotel.
There’s something about Collin Bancroft that that makes Alice want to muss his polished exterior and find out what’s underneath his expensive suit. But romance will have to wait, because his hotel is being haunted by a ghost so dangerous that Alice’s whole coven must step in. Turns out, a supernatural event is unfolding that’s bigger than any of them ever imagined—and it’s about to blow the secrets of Shaddow House wide open. Will Alice and Collin survive long enough to have a future together?

Story 4 stars. Narration 5 stars This was the final book of the three in this series. The three main characters are witches on an island in the middle of Lake Huron. It’s the kind of place that closes up by necessity for the winter due to ice and snow. The three have formed a coven and try to help ghosts find their way or find out who killed them and why. Also, figure out what object they are each attached to. All of these books have a new romance for each of the witches. This was Alice’s turn. She meets Colin who has just bought a huge old hotel on the island. He grew up spending summers at the hotel, but has never met Alice due to her grandparents not letting her do much except work at their antique shop. He immediately is charmed by her and for her part she feels a zing go through her unlike anything she’s ever felt before. There’s also ghost drama taking place on the island and of course the witches get involved. I enjoyed the characters as usual and even the ghosts that hang out in the haunted mansion one of the witches lives in. The ghost butler was such a fun addition to all of the books. The author says this is the final book and then leaves it wide open for a whole new book in the end. A whole new ghost. I’m hoping she revisits these witches in some way or even a new series that is hinted at. I can hope! Narration by Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton was perfect as usual. Recommended!
Listen, I’m a massive Molly Harper fan, and am probably going to be bias in any and all of my reviews of her work. That being said, I absolutely loved “Never Been Witched” (total shock, I know).
Admittedly, I didn’t *love* Alice in the first two books. Not that I disliked her, however, I just didn’t connect with her as much as Riley and Caroline. This meant I cam into “Never Been Witched” excited because I love the world of Starfall Point, but a little less enthused that Alice was the main character. OH HOW WRONG I WAS.
I loved this book, as mentioned previously. I loved Alice’s growth, the exploration of female relationships, the exploration of what family really means (both blood family and the family you choose), the ways platonic and romantic relationships develop, UGH I JUST LOVED IT ALL OK?
Alice underwent a major transformation, as a character, and really came into her own - as did Collin. I loved the parallels between their stories, while also being starkly different characters/people, from very different backgrounds. There were a lot of complicated relationships for Alice to work through, and the way Molly Harper built that framework, and then masterfully navigated? Ugh, *chef’s kiss,* brilliant.
One thing I really love about Harper’s writing is that there is plot, there’s drama, things “go wrong,” but it’s never drawn out unnecessarily. Some authors fall into the trap of trying to make things too exciting, and they get stuck in the convoluted drama they create. Harper is too masterful to fall for that. Her pacing and ability to create tension and conflict for her characters, but to keep the story moving towards meaningful resolution should be lauded from the rooftops. As a reader, I want to feel the feelings of the characters, have the anxiety of “will this get resolved???,” and be on the edge of my seat, but I don’t want to drown in it and lose the plot. That never happens in Harper’s books. They are always purposeful, paced well, and perfect (the 3 P’s!).
I really can’t believe this was the end of the trilogy. I want to keep returning to Starfall Point (maybe with the new sea-witch series????), over and over again. I want to see what happens to Josh and Mina, I want to watch the relationships grow and mature, I want to know what happens to Shadow House (AND THE GHOST BEHIND THE RED LOCK - THAT ENDING??? COME ON!), all of it. I want to know all of it. AND THAT ENDING. Talk about a cliff hanger. If you read this book, then you KNOW what I’m talking about. AND PLOVER’S CHAPTER. Utterly destroyed me. This is the perfect fall/Halloween read. Do yourself a favor and PLEASE read it. The audiobook narrators, Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton are truly brilliant.
Cute wrap up to the star fall trilogy. Listened to all of these on audible and the narration was 5 stars. The voices of the ghosts made them my fave characters. It did feel like a good 1/3 of the storyline was just recap of the last two books which felt excessive.
So happy I waited to read the series till the final book came out! What perfect way to wrap up the trilogy. The humor and action had been kicked up, and I loved it. Alice has become a little baddy and finally found her voice. I love seeing her fall in love while standing up to all the jerks in her life. We find out what the mysterious blob ghost is and the secret to the locks. 🌶️
This is the third year I’ve had one of these adorable witchy romances to listen to on my commute in October. This series is just like an apple brown sugar latte, perfectly fall and cozy. Cheesy, and a little predictable in the best way, I look forward to them every year
Enjoying the end of the Never Been Witched series. I wasn’t sure about Alice as a main character but her growth changed my mind. Alice’s weakness really annoyed me and I hated how her grandparents treated her. Her low self esteem also annoyed me. I’m glad she finally found her voice.
A meh conclusion to the series. The author wasn't good with characterization. It's difficult to differentiate between the female MCs and the male MCs. The magic was much too simplified, just a wallpaper really. The final reveal at the end was more ridiculous than believable.
This is one of those crazy reviews that I truly do not think people will understand unless they have already read and enjoyed the other books in this (or her many other) series. What does that mean exactly? Well, let's just say that Ms. Harper has a very unique and eclectic sense of humor and for those of us who do get her sense of humor, well, it's as funny as heck.
This is the third book in this series and she is continuing with her pattern of releasing the books on audio first, before they are release in print. At first, I wasn't sure what I thought about that because I am one of those weird readers that likes to alternate between reading and listening. BUT....this series is SO unique that it is truly best experienced through listening, and I have come to think that Ms. Harper was actually a literal genius when she made that decision.
This is the third book that takes place on an island in the northeast called Starfall Point. Over the first two books, we have learned quite a lot about this island, specifically about a certain house on this island (no spoilers) that has QUITE the history. In the first two books, we got to meet and follow the first two of the trio of women that are drawn to the house and are trying to uncover what the actual heck is going on. We have- as of yet - only been given snippets of Alice Seastairs and her life, and boy oh boy have we felt sorry for her.
Alice is living a life on the island dominated by her absolutely crazy grandparents - who own one of the antique/second hand stores on the island. And this, boys and girls, is HER story.
So, we are thrown back onto the island, we learn lots and lots more about the history of, well, lots of things, and of course....Alice is part of a love story as well.
All in all, if you love Molly Harper, you will love this book. Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton are the narrating duo for this story and since Ms. Ronconi has practically been with this author since the VERY beginning, you already know it is going to be great. And, for those of us who enjoy the romance genre, Teddy Hamilton is practically narrating royalty, so...again....it's a total win.
While this could PROBABLY be read as a stand alone, I wouldn't do it. There is so much back story and so much FUN in the back story and the characters. I mean, truly, where else can you find a very uppity but extremely lovable ghost butler....??? Seriously.
So, go and find book 1 and go from there. You won't be disappointed.
This series kept getting better and better to end with a bang! This book was so good! The ending though 😫 God, I didn’t want it to ever end! I was so excited for Alice’s story and it did not disappoint! I loved Alice and Collin. They were such a cute couple and I loved how Collin jumped right into the witchy world to be with Alice. I think Alice was my favorite of the coven trio. Boy, her grandparents…If you know, you know! I loved how the author played that into this book and how the situation unraveled. I knew it was going to be good, and it was! I’m so looking forward to what’s coming next from this author!
A great wrap up to the series. There were plenty of mysteries and action-packed moments. Things definitely became more complex before finally delivering the answers I craved. Alice was, to me, the most relatable of the witches. And Collin was sweet and protective. I kind of wish there was more, but am ultimately satisfied with the way things ended.
This one just felt meh. Alice and Colin only seemed to have a quick connection and then it just seemed to be stagnant for the rest of the book. Due to the fact that the last book did so little for the overall story it felt like the author just crammed in everything at the end of this book. I also didn’t love how differently the magic system seemed to work for some of the characters in comparison to others.
SPOILERS!!!!!! Literally the love story was so meh they on multiple occasions said they weren’t I love, but maybe could be one day. And not in like a denial way, but like a I don’t feel deeply enough about this person but also seemed to insta-love them???
Cute audible story great for a cozy Halloween funny story. It’s the third in a trilogy. Would make great hallmark or lifetime trilogy movie for Halloween. 🎃 I liked all the characters and the found family aspect grew with each book. Just super cute low angst with some spooky 👻 ghosts and smart fun witches and great side characters. I loved Plover the best. ❤️
This trilogy is just the type of cozy witch story that I enjoy. It’s a perfect escape from the disasters of the world. I’m looking forward to the spinoff trilogy Harper has planned.
This book brings and end to this series, which is sad because it's been a fun one. But things were resolved in a way that you are ok with leaving these characters where they are.
Alice really goes through a lot in this one, looses a lot, but most of what she lost isn't a big loss when she really looks at things. What she gains is so much more, especially once the coven knows her secret and they aren't that broken up about it. Then there is Colin. He could have come off in not a good way, instead you find yourself rooting for them and for Colin to put is past in the past.
While these 2 are working out their relationship, the race is on for the locks. The coven finds out who the heir is and there is a showdown and it's good. I loved how things were solved and how our group came out ahead. Now they all can just live their lives happy with no threat over them.
For the most part of the book I thought this was going to be a 5 star read. I loved to get to know Alice better, and Collin's background was interesting abd well done. It was fun to watch them fall for and grow with each other. The whole found family aspect was cosy as always.
But then the last third of the book happened and it felt like a letdown. The wrap up to the witchy overarcing plot of the trilogy was... contrived and unconvincing. Just too simple. But I guess the witchy stuff was only supposed to work as a backdrop for the romances, so Harper didn't put too much effort in it unfortunately. I loved Chester, though. 😁
Waaah! I have been dying to get my hands on this. I even pre-ordered it ;) I rarely pre-order books but I was sooo excited for this one.
Alice has lead a quiet life working in her grandparent's antique shop until she joined a Witch Coven and everything changed. It's now her job to protect Starfall from dark magic and unruly ghosts. Things get even more upside down when Collin comes to town. Collin wants to make something of himself and step out of his family's rich shadow. He buys the town's most historic and (unknown to him) haunted hotel. The two team up to redo the hotel, but there is a ghost so dangerous that Alice and her coven must step in and Collin gets dragged into the fray.
SIGHS I am sad that this is the last of the series. There is going to be a spin-off set in the same world, but sadly our time with this group of gals is over. I love them! I hope we get to see them in the spin-off. One day I will have to re-read this series. Not only was this a fun series, but I simply adored that this took place in Northern Michigan! :D :D Brings me joy.
The drama and mystery was exciting! I had no idea what was going to happen next. I was right on ONE theory, but the rest? Unsure. Lots of twists and turns.
Ooooooh Collin. The boy needs therapy. I feel so bad for him but after a certain scene I would have issues with trusting him too for a while. Spoiler...not spoiler....he does redeem himself and does the right thing. Good job.
Alice is a gem and I was annoyed that she was so scared of telling the coven her secret. It wasn't even a big deal. Maybe I would've felt the same, but seeing it from my POV....girl just tell them.
F her grandparents. They need to be kicked out of town. Maybe no one will go to their stupid shop once word gets around. Maybe they'll go bankrupt and be forced to leave. One can hope!
I think what I loved most about this book and the series as a whole is that yessss there is romance and steamy parts. And it is set in Michigan. BUT I loved seeing them grow and develop. I love watching them build their own family and community. So many of these guys had a shitty family, but watching them come together? Friendships, family, platonic love, and romantic love? What more can you ask for? Plus ghosts! *chef kiss*
The narrators made this series even more magical. Great narrations and they work well together.
All-in-all, I def recommend this. You need to read the first two books first. There is a lot of backstory and events that led up to this one. I want to re-read this series again someday. 5 out of 5.
I ADORE this series. Alice, our FMC, is the owner of an antique shop on the island of Starfall Point. A tiny tourist attraction in Michigan that shuts down in the winter after the lake freezes. The residents have learned to deal with the harsh winters. Plus it gives them a break from the fudgies. Alice’s life has been sort of crazy after being inducted into SFP’s only coven. Their job is to keep the secrets of Shadow House secret and the island safe from hauntings. A former resident returns and buys the historic hotel after a famous influence runs it into the ground. Colin, our MMC, takes it upon himself to restore the hotel to its former glory. All the while dealing with a crazy ex and money hungry relatives. Alice isn’t any better off, her grandparents are just peaches. If the peaches were rotten and moldy... But together, along with her coven, they’re ready for anything even a deadly face-off with an old enemy. SPOILERS********************** So glad to finally hear Alice's side of the story. It was missing some of the elements from the last couple stories. Possibly because the plot took a different turn, since Alice was trying to hide some things from her coven and couldn't reconcile herself to just tell them. So there wasn't as much commraderie with the characters that we've seen in the previous two. It's GREAT when Alice finally stands up to her grandparents and tells them off because holy Hades do they deserve it. This was more of a slow burn than some of her other books because of the issues they were both facing, but it was sweet when they finally got together. I also very much appreciated hearing about how everyone else was doing. The ending... omg I was so happy to hear about Plover!!!!! Ghost man deserved a bit of a happy ending. Not completely happy but still good.

Never Been Witched is the third and final tale in the Starfall Point paranormal romance series. This time around, we follow Alice Seastairs, who works for her overbearing, cruel grandparents. Alice has been treated like a waste of space her entire life and didn’t know true love and friendship until meeting Riley and Caroline; however, she’s keeping a secret from them that she feels will destroy that relationship. Then she meets Colin who feels like he just fits.
I have really enjoyed this series and was excited to find out more about Alice. Alice and Colin have been involved in toxic relationships both romantically and with family. I love that there is a lot of focus on both MCs finding their place - getting their world together and realizing what’s important, and how to take care of themselves. They seem to fall fast because *magic* and such, but it’s not blatant and both recognize they need to stand on their own before moving forward. I enjoyed seeing the coven become its best as Alice finally confronts her skeletons.
Never Been Witched brings an exciting end to the trilogy, giving listeners a satisfying conclusion to the mysteries of Shadow House. The story connects all the dots and provides an HFN/HEA not only all six MCs of the series, but to some of the ghostly residents as well. The story is fun but not silly. There is Molly Harper’s trademark sarcasm and wit, which I love. All of the threads are woven together and things that happened earlier in the series are explained.
Narration: The story is shared via the alternating third person POVs of Alice and Colin. Hamilton voices Colin’s POVs. His voice is pleasantly deep and fitting for the wealthy hotel owner. He adjusts for gender. His accented voices are very successful. Ronconi brings her usual, upbeat enthusiasm to the role of Alice. She also adjusts appropriately for gender, accent, and age. Both narrators don’t make a huge distinction between characters of the same gender, but their performances are entertaining.
I really enjoyed Never Been Witched, and I am super excited that Harper is creating a new series set in the same world, especially with how the book ended.
I have been waitingggggg for this book for what feels like forever!! I read the first two back in January of 2024 so it really wasn’t that long. But still. I loved Alice’s character! I felt for her and her strained relationship with her grandparents. I’m glad to see that Molly gave them what they deserved. Meeting Colin took me by surprise especially how LIEK drastically they meet. He was a fresh energy brought to the coven. I feel like he was the perfect balance to Alice with their character similarities.
Overall I loved this story and how both of the main characters have over baring family situations. Ending them to fall into each others arms. Which inevitably ends with them taking ownership of their own feelings, and standing up for them selves. It’s only when you love your self first you can flourish in a relationship of any kind. I also loved how yes the couple really did fall head over heels for each other. This story didn’t end like a typical whirl wind romance.
I throughly enjoyed the story plot line as well. The continuation of the locks and the shadow house was a nice touch and a great way to end the trilogy. I loved this story and cannot wait to read the next series in the universe.
