Wedding Bet (Fixer Brothers Construction Co #8)

This is a slow burn, fake boyfriend read in the Fixer Brothers Construction series with Jamie pretending to be Landry’s boyfriend in order to make him feel better about having to face his cheating ex and his new fiancé during the week long lead up to Jamie’s brother’s wedding.
Neither Jamie nor Landry really WANTED it to be fake but, in a misguided attempt to protect themselves, they placed a condition under which, with a certain outcome, they would give in to their attraction for each other. Hence the bet.
Both men were full of insecurities due to previous relationships…Landry more so than Jamie as he had sworn off love and claimed to only be interested in hookups and flings but Jamie also had this inferiority complex thing going on that he struggled with. When they were together, they were good but, to me, they spent so much time waffling back and forth that I kinda got a little frustrated with ‘em.
For readers who love emotionally damaged MCs and to watch them grow and heal, this book will be like catnip for you (and it WAS good) I just got a little weary of the back and forth but I do admit that I was thankful for the low angst level. It was a 4 Star read for me.
