I made a that I’d be his perfect fake boyfriend for this wedding. Now I desperately don’t want to lose.
My dark all my life, I’ve felt like a fake.
I act like I have it together. But I fry eggs for a living and can barely pay rent. I’m a hopeless romantic but still chronically alone.
So here at my brother’s wedding, in the middle of snowy mountains at a fancy ski resort, I got… desperate.
“Lucky” Landry Lucock is the definition of having it together. Wealthy, handsome, and completely out of my league. Guys like him don’t want me.
…But now he’s calling me boyfriend, even though we’re anything but.
I made a bet with Landry that I could be his fake boyfriend for this wedding week and put on a killer show for his awful ex. Now we’re sharing everything, and I keep ending up in his bed.
I’m telling myself this will never be more than pretend.
But he’s kissing me even when no one’s around.
And I never bet on something fake being so damn addictive…
3.5 I really enjoyed Home Game and was really looking forward to this story as I love fake boyfriend tropes. I was happy that Jamie & Landry - both minor side characters in previous books - got their HEA with each other. Mostly, though, I was a bit confused by this book. I felt like there were multiple threads/motivations that never quite got resolved. For example...what happened to the whole fake boyfriend and wedding bet - first it was needed, then it was just...lapsed. I also didn't understand why Jamie, who earned so little money, didn't a) maybe try to seek an alternate career path or job or move somewhere less expensive if it was all such an issue? If his older brother was now making a big chunk of change, why was Jamie shouldering so much of his mom's financial burden? Honestly, I just didn't feel much emotion or even chemistry between Jamie and Landry either - like, zero feels here. There was a lot of misunderstanding and back and forthing between the two of them. I really just wanted more romance and emotion between Jamie & Landry (there was some emotion about the MC's external circumstances). I did like that Jamie and his mom both decided to relocate to Denver, so that they could be close to Chase. i loved the marshmallow nickname too!
I received an ARC from GRR and this is my honest review.
I really wanted to enjoy this one. I was hoping for Hallmark Winter Wonderland rom-com. However, it was missing the romance. Jamie and Landry couldn't get it together enough to be anything until near the very end of the story. I was just left wanting. It was just an okay read.
Tropes: • Fake Dating • Age Gap • Winter Wonderland • Slow burn • HEA
Cheating: Third-act breakup: POV: Dual POV (First Person POV) KU: Yes I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
↓↓ I have liked the majority of other books in this series and I really really wanted to like this one, but it fell extremely flat for me.
The lack of romance or anything until almost the end made their relationship seem unauthentic and the pacing was just wayyyyy off for me. They were way to wishy washy to fully enjoy them as a couple.
𝕋𝕣𝕠𝕡𝕖𝕤 / 𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝔼𝕩𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕥 Slow burn Fake Dating Age Gap
The couple were ok together. I wasn't invested in them though. I kind of like fake relationship books that turn into love. Too bad they always fight the love and the real relationship part. I received a complimentary advanced review copy of this book from GRR and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
You can tell a series has plumbed its depths when the premise of the series follows a construction company, and the main characters of the book are the brother of the cameraman of the TV show following the construction company, and the best friend of the marketing agent for the construction company. Suspension of disbelief had to be pretty strong to be invested in their emotions and to think the financial differences aren't gonna be an issue. But it was cute, love Marshmallow.
I enjoyed this book quite a lot and it was a pretty quick read for me. This was fun and I'd say it was pretty low angst, but also had some emotional parts, that had me a bit teary eyed.
Jamie and Landry are attending the wedding of Adam and Chase that is held at a ski resort in Colorado and they are there for a week. Jamie is Chase's brother, but it was a bit weird to me that he wasn't in the bridal party. Granted I have no idea what the customs are, but it seemed a bit weird, because they had a great relationship. Landry met the grooms while working his marketing job and had become great friends with them. I enjoyed that Jamie and Landry tried to get to know each other and become friends, but their chemistry was too strong for that. What I didn't enjoy that much was the whole back and forth regarding what they wanted to do: be casual, only be friends, etc. They changed their minds a lot, and I get where they were coming from-Jamie had low self-esteem and Landry was disillusoned because of past relationships-, but I just wanted them to talk it out. They did talk things out, but after getting back from the wedding Jamie got overwhelmed with how different their lives were and didn't contact Landry for a couple of days. I was happy to see Jamie calling Landry and finally talking things out and agreeing to give the relationship a try. I liked the both tried to build each other up and assauge their doubts. Both Jamie and Landry needed to feel like they were enough for the other person and that is never an easy journey, but the outcome is always great. They were sweet and swoony together, but I would have liked to see more of their lives together, and how they navigated being together while Landry had to travel for work and also both of them having busy schedules.
It was nice seeing some familiar faces from the Fixer Brothers family, while also seeing Jamie and Landry's relationship blossom. Also, I adore Marshmallow as a nickname and "love" as an endearment.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
Jamie wasn’t where he hoped to be in his life, but he managed. With debt, a mediocre job, and a room in a place he shared with some nice but disastrous roommates, he had nothing to offer a potential partner, not to mention he had no time for dating anyhow. Using every dollar he can scrape together, he goes to his brother's wedding (Chase from a previous book) in the snowy Colorado mountains.
Landry wasn’t a fan of weddings, but Adam was his best friend, and there was no way he wouldn’t go. He loved the mountains and skiing, so it really wasn’t a hardship, but it still brought out unwanted feelings. He was reminded that it wasn’t even a year ago that his ex said no to his proposal. He would keep his head down and support his friend before returning to the life he had carefully crafted, which meant hookups and no feelings ever again.
The problem was that the adorable guy who looked like a marshmallow melted the ice unexpectedly for them both.
OPINION: I am a big fan of this series, and these books are always sweet with great MCs. Landry and Jamie were quite likable, and their story was lovely. I did feel some emotion toward the end, but this was a nice tale in which two men figure out that love will do what it wants, even if you try to deny it. Some nice spicy moments fit with the story. Even though they knew better, they fell into bed and had a good time. There were a few things that I wasn’t sure how to justify in my head, such as why the brother and best friend were not included in the rehearsal dinner. Or in the wedding party (even though not having traditional roles was addressed), some people must have been involved if there was a dinner. The back and forth between them was predictable. I did appreciate that Landry recognized Jamie’s need to be independent and cared about him regardless. Generally, I enjoyed the book. It was only peripherally involved with the Fixer Bros but fit with the story and was an enjoyable addition.
Another lovely book in the series First, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest reviews. In this book, it’s the big wedding of Adam & Chase and Jamie he’s not happy. His brother Chase chose to get married at a ski resort. Jamie is from the beach and he loves where he lives. He loves the heat. And it is also very expensive. He works in a dinner as a cook. He loves his brother and he is super happy. He has found his other half. Landry he’s really not looking forward to this wedding because he knows that Parker is going to be there. The problem is he had a secret relationship with Parker to the point he proposed but Parker turned him down flat. So no one will feel his pain. But when he first meet Jamie, he finds him extremely attractive. But it seems that Jamie wasn’t interested in him. He’s scared that he’s offended him so he sends out a cocktail to his room to say sorry and this is really where their friendship starts. When Jamie and Landry also known as lucky were having a drink in the bar, lucky times face-to-face with Parker and Jamie doesn’t doesn’t like the pain that shows on Luckys face, so he pretends to be like his boyfriend. Izzy Parker isn’t there alone he’s there with his fiance. It’s like he’s trying to rub it in to Luckys face, and Jamie is not having any of that. So here comes the wedding bet, if Jamie succeeds he will make Parker jealous enough that he wants Lucky back. If Lucky wins which means that Parker was not affected in. Anyway he gets one night to hook up with Jamie so who’s gonna win the bet.???? I enjoyed these two very much I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite book in the series that I did enjoy the read. I think these two had a connection and chemistry from the start and I found their friendship/ fake boyfriend super cute.
Woohoo! We're back in Colorado in the Fixer Brothers universe...and Chase and Adam are getting married at a lovely resort in the mountains.
Jamie, Chase's brother, is there from California, and he feels like a fish out of water. He barely scraped enough money together to make the trip, and now he's at this gorgeous, romantic destination, completely single.
Almost immediately he runs into Landry "Lucky" Lucock, who is a millionaire friend of the group's, and Emmett's business partner. There are immediate sparks between the two of them, but when Jamie learns that Landry is a playboy and when Landry learns Jamie is looking for love, they decide to be friends only.
Landry used to want love, marriage, kids, the white picket fence. But almost a year ago he proposed to his closeted boyfriend Parker...who said no then immediately admitted to cheating on Landry. Worst of all, Parker and his NEW fiance are both in town for the wedding as well.
During a painful confrontation in the bar one night, Jamie can see Landry's discomfort and Jamie helpfully pretends to be Landry's new boyfriend. It works, Parker is pissed. So Jamie vows to help Landry through the trip by being his fake date.
The two men have fun together, sharing laughs, personal anecdotes, and even a little steam. Things just seem so easy between them. But at the end of the day, they lead two totally different lives. They couldn't possibly work long-term...right?
*swoon* This one was so cute. It might be my favorite Fixer Brothers book! From the very beginning, I fell under the spell of the wedding weekend, the gorgeous mountain setting, and the opposites attract trope. Jamie was the sweetest little marshmallow, and Landry was the nice yet awkward guy who kept his walls firmly in place. So sweet.
Jamie is out of his element, a Cali boy attending his brother's wedding in a snowy Colorado ski resort. He bumps into Landry, who is another wedding guest trying to avoid his ex (who was a secret boyfriend none of their friends knew he was even dating). Cue the drama!!
Jamie is so sweet, but completely void of self-confidence. Whereas Landry appears very put-together, but hides his deep insecurities with a playboy demeanor. When the two decide to be "fake boyfriends" for the wedding, real feelings ensue.
I love the premise, but the pacing is sort of off. Jamie and Landry run so hot and cold sometimes, suddenly turning on a dime for no discernable reason. There are a couple arguments where one of them starts out with one stance, and by the end it's just totally flipped around. It threw me off a bit and took me out of the story. And then too, the "fake dating" aspect wasn't as prominent as I'd have liked it to be. I think they put on an act maybe... twice? And the rest of the time were just off vibing on their own. The entire "bet" premise is around Jamie betting he can fake being Landry's boyfriend well enough that Landry's ex comes begging for him back, so I really expected that to play into at least SOME sort of drama, but it's just left as a dangling thread of plot that's never fully utilized.
This is the 8th book in the Fixer Brothers Construction series, and can be read as a standalone.
I'll admit I was confused why Jamie wasn't more a part of the wedding party, or at least sitting at the family table with Adam & Chase, and their mom. I'm glad he was having fun with Landry, it just seemed a bit odd.
I really enjoyed the developing friendship and relationship with Jamie and Landry. It seemed very smooth and natural for the two of them to connect, despite their differences. They complicated one another very well and always seemed more than happy to jet off away from the rest of the crowds at the resort to spend their own special time together; not all of it intimate.
I really appreciate the way Raleigh writes up the Fixer Brothers Construction characters. This book's MCs are indirectly connected to the main set of brothers, but they're included in the group all the same, and I love that they're connected in more than one way, with Landry doing the marketing for the guys and their show, and Jamie being Chase's brother from book 6 of the series.
I loved reading Wedding Bet. It was a fairly short, very fun jump back into the Fixer Brothers universe, but in a different setting (still Colorado, but not Jade River). I love the connected storylines, and I always love when past MCs have little cameos, even when they're random and seemingly obscure.
I received an advance copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
I am a big fan of the Fixer Brothers Construction Co book series, and Jamie and Lucky's story is no exception.
Jamie and Lucky are in two different spectrums of the financial ladder. Jamie is living paycheck to paycheck, taking care of himself and his disabled mother. Lucky, has been financially successful, with no one to enjoy it with.
When they both meet, the attraction was palpable. However, it was apparent to Jamie that Lucky was out of his league. When Lucky continued to try his luck (see what I done there) with Jamie, Jamie really thinks he is just playing around with him. It takes some convincing to give Lucky a shot, as friends... because why else would he want to be friends with Jamie. It quickly becomes apparent that friendship is the easy road and something more is dangerous for the both of them.
I loved where the author went with this story. It made me mad, frustrated, happy and created a "what in the world just happened" feelings inside that I had to read it all the way through to see what happened next. I couldn't put it down. If you haven't read the rest of the series, that is ok... however, I highly recommend the rest as well because it makes the story that much sweeter.
I received an ARC of this story from GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
3.5⭐️ I’ve enjoyed all the books in The Fixer Brothers series. In particular, I think the author is so good at creating charming and lovable characters - like Jamie and Landry. I’d say there’s not a lot of focus on the fake dating aspect, which I don’t mind. Jamie and Landry’s fake boyfriend’s bet was a fun way to put these two together and I loved the lovely Colorado winter wonderland setting. I liked their chemistry and Jamie is especially endearing, their first wonderfully awkward elevator meeting was a promising start. These two have wonderful chemistry, they like each other right off, neither is attached, and they both dream of finding love. So, all their hesitation and the drawn out one step forward, two steps back dynamic seemed unnecessary. I wish they didn’t drag their feet so long as I would have loved seeing more of them together for real. Even in the epilogue, eighteen months later, their relationship doesn’t feel like it progressed much, it still felt a bit tentative. I liked these characters, and would have loved a bit more romance for them.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is a slow burn, fake boyfriend read in the Fixer Brothers Construction series with Jamie pretending to be Landry’s boyfriend in order to make him feel better about having to face his cheating ex and his new fiancé during the week long lead up to Jamie’s brother’s wedding.
Neither Jamie nor Landry really WANTED it to be fake but, in a misguided attempt to protect themselves, they placed a condition under which, with a certain outcome, they would give in to their attraction for each other. Hence the bet.
Both men were full of insecurities due to previous relationships…Landry more so than Jamie as he had sworn off love and claimed to only be interested in hookups and flings but Jamie also had this inferiority complex thing going on that he struggled with. When they were together, they were good but, to me, they spent so much time waffling back and forth that I kinda got a little frustrated with ‘em.
For readers who love emotionally damaged MCs and to watch them grow and heal, this book will be like catnip for you (and it WAS good) I just got a little weary of the back and forth but I do admit that I was thankful for the low angst level. It was a 4 Star read for me.
Jamie made a bet: that he'd be Landry's perfect fake boyfriend for this wedding. Now he desperately doesn't want to lose. Jamie acts like he has it together. But he frys eggs for a living and can barely pay rent. He's a hopeless romantic but still chronically alone. “Lucky” Landry Lucock is the definition of having it together. Wealthy, handsome, and completely out of Jamie's league. Guys like him don’t want someone like Jamie. But now he’s calling him boyfriend, even though we’re anything but. Jamie made a bet with Landry that he could be his fake boyfriend for this wedding week and put on a killer show for his awful ex. Now they're sharing everything, and he keeps ending up in his bed. He's telling himself this will never be more than pretend. But there's kissing even when no one’s around. But something fake is so damn addictive.
I enjoyed this story with the two men who were pretending until they weren't. I struggled with their relationship which was very impersonal and strained for much of the story. I enjoyed this last part of the story when it felt more real and there was some romance. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
This is the first book that I’ve read from the Fixer Brothers Construction Series. This was a quick, sweet and enjoyable read but I believe I would’ve enjoyed this book even more if I’d read the prior books in this series. Jaime and Landry has instant chemistry and if they both would’ve gotten out of their own way and communicated more it would’ve saved some of the unintentional hurt they caused the other. Lack of communication is usually part of the cause with the whole fake dating trope. Even with being in completely different socio-economic backgrounds I think that they’re great together. I’m looking forward to reading more books from this series, as well more from Raleigh Ruebins in the future. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.
******I received a complimentary copy of this book through GRR. I would still happily review this book even if I purchased it myself. My thoughts and feelings about this book are completely unbiased******

Wedding Bet by Raleigh Ruebins is part of the Fixer Brothers Construction Co. series. Chase and Adam are getting married. Chase’s brother, Jamie, is looking forward to his first vacation in years. He is struggling to get by with his job while taking care of his mom. While there, he meets Landry who is as different from Jamie as possible. Landry is wealthy, sophisticated, and bitter about love. Jamie and Landry are drawn to each other, but both fear that what they want is out of the question. I did love both of these men together. They brought out the best in each other. Landry did drive me crazy at times in his insistence of pushing Jamie away. I was let down by the epilogue though. Eighteen months later and they are talking about moving in with each other in six months. I know that Jamie is independent but goodness. It sort of took me out of the story a little bit. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Jamie and Landry come from completely different worlds. Jamie is scraping by, juggling his own needs while caring for his disabled mother, while Landry enjoys financial success but lacks someone to share it with.
When they meet, the attraction is undeniable, but Jamie immediately feels Landry is out of his league. Despite Landry’s persistent attempts to connect, Jamie assumes it’s all a game. Reluctantly, he agrees to be friends, convinced that’s all Landry could genuinely want from him. But as their bond deepens, it becomes clear that sticking to friendship is the safer choice, while exploring something more feels like walking a dangerous tightrope for both.
This story was full of emotional highs and lows—one that had me frustrated, thrilled, and deeply invested. It’s a rollercoaster of feelings that kept me glued to the pages, eager to find out what happened next. While you can absolutely enjoy this as a standalone, reading the rest of the series adds layers of sweetness to the story, and I highly recommend diving into it all!
I always enjoy a good forced proximity, two guys from very different realities, and holiday romance, and it was also lovely to see some of our other fav characters.
Landry is rich and successful, but he’s also been burned by love and terrible exes. He’s not looking for love. But he finds it regardless with Jamie. He is lovely and sweet but struggling financially partly due to his mother's medical bills. It leaves him insecure and a bit unworthy.
As they learn about each other they both have a lot of layers and baggage to overcome. But it’s a sweet relationship in the end.
The ‘wedding bet’ aspect fell a little flat for me, it kind of felt like it was abandoned along the way, but they are a wonderful couple regardless.
Welcome to the 8th installment of the Fixer brothers, this one featuring Landry and Jamie. Jamie is Chase’s brother. Chase and Adam are finally getting married and unlike the other books in this series it does not take place in Jade River. It takes place at a high end local resort where Chase and Adam are getting married. While Chase (and his mom) make a couple appearances - Emmett also shows up - it’s also one of the few books in the series that does not have a lot of appearances from other characters in the series (hard to do for book 8 in a series!). For these reasons, this one more than the others really could be read as a stand alone and you wouldn’t be missing much. Landry has a lot of money but has been emotionally burned in the past and Jamie doesn’t have much and is still trying to find his footing in the world. Despite both really being commitment-shy they can’t help but find their way to one another. These two will get their HEA and it’s totally worth it.
Jamie and Lucky’s story was another great addition to the Fixer Brothers series. Jamie is scraping by, working in a diner, and supporting himself and his disabled mother. Lucky has been… lucky. He is financially independent with no partner to spend his days with after his last boyfriend showed his true colors, proving he was only there for what he could gain and not for love. When the two meet for Chase and Adam’s destination wedding, the attraction is instant, but Jamie has impossible to scale walls, believing he’s not in the same league. All it takes is a run in with Lucky’s ex for Jamie to want to save the man who he’s helplessly attracted to. It allows these men to develop a friendship and trust that becomes so much more during the brief time they spend together, leading to a truly sweet HEA.
I’ve enjoyed all eight of the Fixer Brothers books by Raleigh Ruebins, and Wedding Bet might be my favorite. It was fun to see two characters, Jamie and Landry, with mostly minor roles in the series be the lucky couple who will find their HEA. The first connection is that both live in the same geographic area. As they talk, they realize both have adopted a persona for the role they play in their lives. It was fun to watch the barriers be removed bit by bit in the short time of a wedding party. This is one of books where the author has included scenes in different locations, which highlight important themes or tropes in the respective books. In Wedding Bet the main trope is opposites attract. It is a trope I enjoy and Ruebins did an excellent job of executing it. I received an advance reviewer copy of this book and I am leaving a review voluntarily.
Jamie is a fry cook at a diner in California who has traveled to a resort in Colorado for his brother's wedding. HE had to save and use a credit card to afford the trip and is determined to enjoy his time. The first night he arrives at the resort he meets Landry "Lucky" Lucock and is attracted to him but feels that Lucky is put of his league due to being a rich and successful businessman. The two men keep running into each other and strike up a friendship that soon turns to romance. However, both men have past issues that need to be worked thru. I really liked that Jamie stood up for himself and was so independent and didn't just let Lucky take care of everything. I also liked how we saw their relationship develop after the wedding over time. This was a really sweet and fun holiday read.
Great addition to the Fixer Brothers Series. Jamie and Landry are in Colorado for Chase and Adam's wedding. They meet up in an elevator and the first people they run into are Landry's cheating ex Parker and his newly minted fiancé. Landry was really torn up about the breakup, he had just proposed, so Jamie jumps in claiming to be Landry's boyfriend. Jamie and Landry make a silly bet about if Parker will get jealous and try to win Landry back. It's a good enough excuse to spend time together as any. For a weeklong destination wedding Chase and Adam don't have any group activities planned. Landry's biggest challenge is to get Parker out of his head. You don't let the Parker's of the world have that much power over your life. Letting Jamie into his life will get them the futures they want.
Landry and Jamie meet at Chase and Adam's wedding and the attraction is mutual, however the vision of life of each of them cannot be more opposite. Landry, after having refused a marriage proposal and being cheated by Parker, decides to say no to relationships, on the other hand, Jamie is a romantic who continues to believe that a relationship is possible, but not with someone like Landry, that is way out of his league. When Landry's ex-boyfriend is invited to the wedding and shows up with her current fiancé, Jamie decides to help Landry and pretends to be her new boyfriend and bets that she can convince Parker that Landry already has a new boyfriend. But things don't always follow a pattern, and fate has something to say about. Another great book from the Fixer Brothers Construction Co series.
Confused about what it wants to be, characters feel flat, “fake boyfriend” trope is suggested but comes up maybe twice in the whole book. The bulk of the story taking place at a wedding where our MCs emphatically do not fall in love. Weird tones around money and situations that just don’t make sense, Jamie is barely scraping by renting his own place but his mother has her own house and needs to be taken care of. A lavish wedding where the groom’s brother is scantly involved except to deliver flowers, and has to squeeze in a seat at the back? And does not give a wedding toast? Maybe not the point of the story but it creates weird gaps in the world and characters.
Overall a very muddled read, poorly defined characters, barely used plot devices, and inconsistent pacing. I have not read the author’s other work, unfortunately I don’t think I’ll pick the series up from the beginning.
Jamie and Landry are both in Colorado for Adam and Chase's wedding, a couple from a previous book in the series. Both MCs have baggage and fairly specific ideas about whether or not they want a romantic relationship but when the right person comes along, neither can deny the attraction and longing for a connection. Jamie pretends to be Landry's bf as his ex-fiance is in attendance too, which brings them together but wasn't really a major part of the story. It did help move the intimacy forward a bit faster than it would've otherwise, something both MCs needed. There was plenty to work through for these guys but together, they dealt with their doubts and insecurities and the epilogue at the end was lovely.
My marshmallow, Scherenschnitte, hypokras, snowglobe, bat signal, Sprinkles
Book 8 is a fine addition to the Fixer Brothers Construction Co series by Raleigh Ruebins. It's a meet-cute, hurt/comfort, and feel good rom-com that features Landry "Lucky" Lucock, a rich marketing executive, and Jamie Blau, a short order cook for a diner.
It begins at Snowcock Ski Resort in the mountains of Colorado, where the MCs meet. Of note is Jamie's white puffy jacket, since it's winter and snowing. It's for Jamie's brother Chase's wedding to Adam from "For the Cameras", a previous book of the same series. The imagery is vividly spectacular and the characters are wonderful and likeable.
"Wedding Bet" is entirely delightful, enjoyable, and satisfying. I recommend it.
Jamie is just so adorable! I really love this series and each book gets better and better. Jamie and Landry have very different lives, economically very different ends of the spectrum, but are thrown together for Jamie’s brother Chase’s wedding. They’re very cute together but due to Jamie’s insecurities their friendship runs very hot and cold. Landry is a little oblivious to the financial differences and the implications for how that makes Jamie feel, so there’s a few tetchy moments. Landry is an open book though so listens when needed and does seem to understand. It’s very sweet to see how much they’re perfect for each other, incredibly well suited and they have a lot of fun. There’s a few bumps along the way but the story flows really well and I really enjoyed it. It’s fairly low drama with a medium level of heat and plenty of cameos from previous characters.
It’s a favourite series for me and I highly recommend it.
This series is one of my five top series, and this book just adds to my love of this series. I feel hard for Jamie, as I empathize with him and his life circumstances. He lives check to check and is not sure of himself. He meets Lucky at a wedding and while attracted to him---Jamie insecurities come out as he knows he is not in the same league as Lucky. Lucky is financially secure and has life of a string. I personally was glad to see the fake boyfriend plot down played, I wanted to hug Jamie and tell him he is worthy of Lucky, and fortunately they did find love. I love how they brought out the best in one another and in doing so filled my heart. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
