Journalist Liliana Edwards was on the cusp of an exposé on The Brethren, but they were one move ahead. Magnus Blake, a ruthless Brethren Lord, claimed her freedom as his plaything. She vowed to fight until her last breath, but nothing could prepare for what lay ahead.

This book satisfied my dark needs. The story was intriguing, and I liked how the other Blake brothers were woven into the plot without overshadowing the main story. However, I thought it lacked background on the Brethren.

I don’t want his attention, I don’t want his touch, and yet I crave it as if nothing in this world could ever compare.

I loved how Liliana fought as much and as far as she could, and I liked how Magnus stayed true to himself. I also appreciated the fact that it took a while for the relationship to evolve in a natural way.

Deviant is a story of tenacity, power, and ambition. It would appeal to readers who enjoy secret society dark romance.
