What a fantastic book!! I was honestly sucked in first by the beautiful cover, and then fully sold once I found out it was a mystery set in a fantasy realm.
This book combined fantasy, mystery, and dance - all while set in a time that is similar to the 1920's but with magic, mirrors, and vampires. The mirrors are magic, and people can go into them and make deals with them. But the deals aren't just simple, there are always consciences - both good and bad - to making a deal with a mirror. All the mirrors have different names and personalities. Some are easier to deal with than others, and Quinn has always avoided them as best as she could. After all, her parents had been murdered and found near a broken Blood Mirror. But as fate would have it, people start dying, and since she works with her uncle - who is the medical examiner - she wants to find out what happened. Especially since one of her friends had died. But looking into the murders aren't easy and straightforward as everyone has secrets, and some are compelled so they can't speak about them even if they tried.
This book was a whirlwind of emotions. We get love, angst, hate, jealousy, and so much out of this. I truly fell in love with Quinn's character, and felt that I could connect with her on so many levels, but especially on the ADHD and dyslexia aspects.
The cliffhanger hit HARD, and I absolutely need to know what happens next, I can't wait for book 2 and I have to hold out hope that it will all work out, and Quinn has a plan up her sleeve.
