4 TROUBLE FILLED STARS!
Well, I can now see why people are so in love with Ty and Zane, in my opinion in the romance sense this book was way better than Cut & Run. Though I will still keep to my Prophet and Tommy are the best thing ever, in no way do I compare the two stories as being similar.
So, onto the book... This is book two of the Cut & Run Series placed six months after almost dying to a serial killer in NYC.
FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are stuck, stuck in desk duty, stuck in failing their evals, stuck with drifting apart from each other... So Richard Burns comes in and forces a little vacation on them, and Ty decides to take Zane with him on his visit to his family in West Virginia, hoping the change of scenery will let them figure things out, about their professional and personal situations.
And what starts as a nice refreshing hike up into the Appalachian Mountains along with Ty's father Earl and his brother Deacon ends up being a fight with dangerous men, wild animal, unpredictable weather and worst of it all, their own feeling...

Ty and Zane... I loved that the romance factor in this story was much more real and enjoyable than the first book, it was more real and raw, I felt confused at one point because after book one it was apparent that Zane was in love with Ty, but suddenly he's gone cold and now Ty is lovesick. But by the time it ends the feelings are more evened out and leave you feeling all happy and fuzzy. This are no ordinary guys, they a re rough and suffer through what they've lived through in the past. It's sad and hard and raw and kinda heartbreaking at points.

Earl, ohhhh I was so mad with him, I get that he loves his sons, but the whole tough love thing bothers me, but oh well, it's how it is. The family was so dysfunctional it was hilarious, I loved them! The strong hard ass mom, the tough military dad, the crazy nutty old grandpa and his shovel and of course... Hot-as-hell-makes-me-want-to-drop-my-panties younger brother Deacon, I loved him, he was so intuitive and great and adorable and strong and gahhh I'm in love I want one!!
“Deal with it, Meow Mix,” Deuce advised as he carefully
draped the strips over his shoulder to keep them clean.
The whole mountain thing... That's why this didn't get 5 stars, it's action filled, sure. But wow, of ALL THE BAD THINGS THAT COULD'VE HAPPENED... THEY ALL HAPPENED! Something had to happen! but others where just too much, it was like dejavu, why do they always have to end injured as fuck and having near death experiences with heartfelt moment at the end? I will accept it, because I was so enamored by them but if the next book is the same drama fest I'll probably end up getting bored of this series...
Because I'm a sucker for Ty, hazel eyes and this model...

Ty cleared his throat, snorted in annoyance, and looked at
Zane with narrowed eyes.
“What?” Zane asked softly.
“I should’ve left your ass in DC,” Ty muttered to him as he
pushed away from the sink counter and moved slowly toward the
table where Zane sat. He cocked his head to listen briefly, and then
he bent and stole a surprise kiss before leaving the room.
Zane licked his bottom lip as he stood. He was smiling when
he followed.
Zane -of course way more buff-

“The feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you’re falling.
Like I’m not sure which way is up.”
Zane tightened his arms. “I won’t let you fall.” Then he
winced apologetically. Very trite. He sighed. Trite but true.
