Living Again (Living Again, #1)

I tried the sample and I didn't even finish the first chapter before I started skimming and these are the reasons why:
- The Flashbacks: Which I typically don't mind, it didn't flow or support the story. I.e., when she first met her hubby and how everyone knew they were going to be together, it didn't support the heroines excuse for not walking to talk about him at the funeral to his closest family and friends. It just didn't mesh with the flashback from a few paragraphs prior.
- The Telling: The author is telling us more than showing and so it was hard to want to read about the character. It's always tricky setting up with in the first chapter but I feel there was a better way to construct this story in order to grab the reader. I feel nothing and I don't care if she finds a way to live life again nor how her hubby passed away.
What I did like: The story starts unconventionally and there is great potential to tell this story, perhaps weaving it in with the new so the repetitive flashbacks may be tolerable.
But sadly, it didn't grab me enough to even borrow it for free as an Amazon prime member.
