I wish this book never existed.
I wish this book ended after first 30%.
I wish I never read it.
What happened?

Where are the Tania and Shura I fell in love with? Where is the girl that was ready to put Alexander and her loved ones above everything else? Where is the loyal soldier? The one that worshiped her, the one that stood up to her father saying no one will ever raise a hand against her and hurt her ever again.
I feel cheated. It feels like I traveled from 1940s to 2000s and read a contemporary, screwed up version of my favorite epic love story. Tainted and poisoned with unnecessary drama. The essence of the characters and the foundation of their relationship gone. Stripped off their magic and epicness. I do understand why people say this storyline made this realistic. Yes, these are the struggles present in real life relationships. I just never thought this epic love would be challenged and almost defeated by such mundane obstacles.
The last drop of bitterness was the drama involving Anthony. That was just too much. Ridiculous. Skimmed through the last 30%. It felt dragged.
Summary of this book:
1-30% Painful but great conclusion to a beautiful series.

30-60% Bullshit.

60-70% More heartbreaking, unnecessary, out of character bullshit.

70-95% Ridiculous, dragged drama I skimmed through.

95-100% HEA. Way too much info I skimmed through.

I wish I could erase this book from my memory.

My last image of them would be Tania running into his arms while he says they are going home…

God that's exactly it. I didn't want to discourage you but I really had a hard time with over half of this book and felt the exact same way. I'm never going to write my own review... I will just link to yours because you said it perfectly. I wished this book had ended with (view spoiler) I'm sorry you are disappointed. I totally feel for ya.
It pains me not to love this book. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to rate this. I simply don’t know how.
Yes, over the half of the book was unnecessary! I can’t believe that’s the ending to this amazing series. It breaks my heart. I have absolutely no idea how to rate this.
I hear you. I gave it four but felt like I needed a disclaimer on it. I've read a couple other books by this author. One was pretty good (Girl in Times Square) and the other one (Tully) was awful for me. So even though I love the first two book in this series with a passion, I'm still leery of Paullina Simmons because you just never know what she will do.
The drama with Anthony felt like a Hollywood movie which I didn't like as well as the flashes to the past!
Dang girl, this one did a number on you. Your review was well said. I completely understand and hate this story was ruined for you.
Yes, I love Tania and Shura, and the story the author created is epic and amazing, but I will never again read another book of hers. Too much pain. I can’t trust her with my heart, lol. Never again.
I still consider Tania and Shura’s story epic. And I still love them with my whole heart. Even though this book didn’t work for me. I wish I could unread The Summer Garden.
You warned me, lol. I knew all along there was a possibility I may not like this book *sigh* I love the previous books equally. They were simply perfect. As for this one... I shouldn't have read it.
Thank you, Raquel! I loved the first 30%. It was painful but beautiful. And these were Tania and Shura I fell in love with. Rest of the story didn't work for me :( Especially the last 30%. You'll probably going to love it though. Majority of people do. Looking forward to seeing what you think about this one!
