First 5* of 2019.

There are so many reviews about this one that I have no idea what to write. I will just say that I regret not having read it earlier. I had it in my shortlist for about 3 years and for different reasons I kept postponing to start this dark and wonderful gothic mystery. Don't be like me! Read it now!

This is a long book to keep you busy --while "busy'!!! :) xo" I finished some time ago but did not have the time to write a review. I read while holding the two for sleep. Loved it. I don’t know why it took me so long to start it.

message 6: by Janett (new)

Janett Amazing book and even better story telling. LOVE!

Alexandra One of my favorite books of all time! Glad you liked it!

Vanessa Love the 5 stars 😃

Lisa Love that you loved it, Adina!

Ioana Great book, right? One of my all times favorite!

Barb H What a coincidence! I just reread this for the 3rd time for a book group. Of course I liked it, but it is quite dated. I've seen a couple of old films based on this book.

Vicki Laws One of my favorites.

Vicki Laws If you read about her childhood, some things slit into place. At least, they did for me.

Vicki Laws Slot... apologies. Phone set to Dutch. Is there no edit button?!?! For unintended typo errors? 😂

Markus Thanks, Adina. I have this book on my list since long. Will have to shift it up.
About reviews, I never look up other reviews before I have written my own.
It gives you the free feeling to write sincerely what YOU thought about it.

I usually do the same with reviews. I do not want to be influenced by them when I read a novel or when I write my review. I likd to read other’s thoughts but after.

Teodora Paslaru It's also on my list for a long time. I always want to start it, but I always find something else. I'll keep your words in mine, and maybe next time I'll really pick it and read it.

Bianca (GR, we want notifications, pls! ) Glad to see you enjoyed it. Have you seen the movie adaptation?

James Thomas Lovely review. This one is a classic

Adina (way behind on reviews, some notifications) James wrote: "Lovely review. This one is a classic" I had not inspiration :))

Pinaki Kept it on TBR for too long. Reading it now. It gathers up pace slowly, I feel.

Bharath Happy you liked it Adina. Interestingly at about 50 pages, I thought it was boring and almost gave up. Thankfully did not and loved how it progressed after that. After that made it a habit not to leave any book unfinished!

Adina (way behind on reviews, some notifications) Pinaki wrote: "Kept it on TBR for too long. Reading it now. It gathers up pace slowly, I feel." yes, it a slow builder of tension
