it was amazing
bookshelves: kids-tween-age, kids-young-adult, wish-i-owned

Wow. Wow. WOW! What a terrific writer! She weaves together wonderful words and prismatic people into something really special.

Lovely lovely lovely and exactly the kind of message I needed today. Positive yet not Pollyanna. Beautiful, not ugly, or crude, real. Deep and satisfying.

Going right on the "books to buy list, kids must read list, tell people about/ share this book list."

Very clean, age range perhaps 10+? That age won't appreciate it all, and there are some difficult issues, but it's so positive it just gives me so much ....well....hope.

Michael Jones Wow, looks great! And it doesn't sound like a fairy kingdom.

K. No, definite reality with some heavy thematic elements that the author deals with exquisitely. Parental abandonment, death, dirty politics, cancer (an especially touchy topic I've avoided reading about lately as I've been trying to cheerfully battle said menace myself). I can hardly say enough good things about the way she wove all these hard things into a very enriching experience.

I've only read one other book of hers, which I also really appreciated, this makes me want to go clean out the library.

I like fairy kingdoms, but a dose of well done and hopeful humanity was the ticket yesterday for me!

Michael Jones "said menace" ? Wow, K-- we will be praying for you and your family. My wife suffers from an autoimmune condition. This stuff is not easy.

K. Thanks Michael. I appreciate it. I am hoping I'm at the end of it (retesting in Feb)...it's life, not meant to be easy, but still to be joyful!

Michael Jones No, not easy. But, I'll bet you can pull some strings to get your kids to read to you more.
