You know you're invested in a story when you read a book within three days. When you're in college. While I didn't love it assss much as other recent YA fantasy novels, it was still a good read. All of the characters were extremely well written, the plot was fast paced and the setting was stunning. I felt like I was in Rey, starting out over the terrace at the bustling city below. Ahdieh is an excellent writer, and I can't wait to continue reading this series and whatever else she reads. More Shazi & Khalid! (Seriously though, they're darkly influenced, slightly broken power couple material. So good.) While it was missing something that made it extremely great, I was still highly entertained. 3,25/5 stars.
