I was pleasantly surprised by the comic - I figured I would mostly be bored by reading the same story again, but I still cared about Rick Grimes and his small band of survivors. It was also a nice refresher of the first few episodes of the TV show. While I don't think I'll continue reading the whole series, I'm glad I got see the first take on such an original tale. I might read the newer volumes though... 3.75/5 stars....more

Kinda even renewed my faith in great dystopian YA. So happy yet so sad I'm done with it, and now I can join the LET'S GET A MOVIE SERIES NOW COME ON group. Still so emotional over that ending....what a great way to end a series. thumbs up to Marie Lu. 4.25/5 stars....more

I'M NOT PLEASED WITH THAT ENDING, MARIE LU. WHAT THE HECK?! Good thing I borrowed all three of them from a friend, because...yeah uh there would be words. Moving on, even though the ending GREATLY displeased me, this book was great - even better than Legend in my opinion. We get more character development and how they truly feel (always good to see true emotions and doubts of a character, it really helps them feel like an actual person), we get more action (I thought she wrote great action scenes in Legend, but nope, Prodigy's were even MORE intense), and the writing has really improved. While Legend's writing was a bit iffy, Lu has gotten 10x better with her style, writing each character effortlessly and pulling off both the action scenes and the dialogue scenes. Needless to say, I'm both terrified and excited to read Champion... 4/5 stars...more

I I gave this a try for a reading challenge and was pleasantly surprised! I had wanted to check it out before the movie comes out and I'm glad I did. I couldn't put it down- even though it's basically non-stop action without much character development it's a hell of a ride. And of course, I adore Harley Quinn. I think I'll definitely read the next few volumes! 4/5 stars....more

This is a perfect summer read - it really helps you to reminisce on childhood memories. I adored all the characters and would love for her to write another novel set in Lost Lake! The only problem was this book wasn't edited well - there were tons of grammar and spelling errors that were irksome. Otherwise, a great, light, heartwarming read to pick up when you need a break between the more intense books. On a personal note, I read this at just the right time- my grandma just passed away, and the passages centered around baking and Eby reminded me of her. I feel like her and Eby would have been very good friends. :) 4.25/5 stars...more

While I didn't love it assss much as other recent YA fantasy novels, it was still a good read. All of the characters were extremely well written, the plot was fast paced and the setting was stunning. I felt like I was in Rey, starting out over the terrace at the bustling city below. Ahdieh is an excellent writer, and I can't wait to continue reading this series and whatever else she reads. More Shazi & Khalid! (Seriously though, they're darkly influenced, slightly broken power couple material. So good.) While it was missing something that made it extremely great, I was still highly entertained. 3,25/5 stars....more

This series proves that yes, you can fall more in love with a story as it goes along. Heir of Fire has been my favorite in the series, hands down. What the series already provided - kick ass characters, intense character development, amazing settings and story - was tripled. I loved seeing Celaena develop into the woman she has been meant to be since ToG. LOVED. ALSO, while I know some weren't so enthused with the new characters, I think it sets up the story for it's second and final act. I can't wait to see the bigger roles Aedion, Rowan and Manon will play in later on. Reading Heir of Fire makes me very glad I preordered Queen of Shadows. 4.75/5 stars....more
