I've been meaning to read this ever since the show premiered, and I figured it would fit perfectly for one of my categories on the PopSugar reading challenge. I was pleasantly surprised by the comic - I figured I would mostly be bored by reading the same story again, but I still cared about Rick Grimes and his small band of survivors. It was also a nice refresher of the first few episodes of the TV show. While I don't think I'll continue reading the whole series, I'm glad I got see the first take on such an original tale. I might read the newer volumes though... 3.75/5 stars.
