Here's something I feel like I need to say for future readers of "James Patterson."
James Patterson no longer writes his own books. He creates the concept for the book, but he shops out the actual writing to a cadre of writers who get second credits under his name. He may give them pointers along the way, but he's not cranking out this stuff on his own. Unfortunately, he's become a book factory, and the writing feels about as personal.
**
About this book... I feel like the story was interesting, and I had a sick day, so I pretty much read it straight through. The characters I like? The animals. The characters I didn't? The people. Seriously, the people felt very unlikeable and childish. I attribute this to the overly simplistic and poor writing. Still, I was entertained. All in all, I think I'm liking the TV show's setup much better than this source material.

I'll admit... I don't really want to read it. I want to watch the new TV show out that's based on this book. I'm reading it because I'd like to see how the two compare, and because it fits one of the reading challenge categories for my 2015 challenge. However, I'm finding the writing poor and the characters are childish. We'll see how it goes. :)
