Some time ago I heard about this book and since then, I had saved on my list of "must read" waiting to find the right time to read it. That time happened to be a week ago, a week in which I've just been totally addicted to its pages. In Ready Player One, Ernest Cline takes us in a near future where the global society is living in a vortex of misery that forces the inhabitants to isolate themselves in a virtual reality in which everything is possible (everything!). The approach of the book seemed to me interesting and bright, and strangely similar to the trend in which it seems that our society is going. But Ernest Cline book's purpose is not to create a too heavy social criticism, quite the contrary, his story is rather an adventure, a quest in which the geek world of video games is mixed with an incredibly imaginative vision. The idea of finding an easter egg hidden in the most famous game in the world creates a fast rhythm in the novel, full of surprises and in which the reader has very little space for feeling bored. I encourage Ernest Cline to write a sequel because honestly, I would like to continue getting further into the world of Oasis and Parzival, Art3mis and Hache.

Hace tiempo que escuché hablar de este libro y desde entonces lo tenía guardado en mi lista de "must read", a la espera de encontrar el momento idóneo para leerlo. Eso ocurrió hace una semana, una semana en la que apenas me he podido despegar de sus páginas. En Ready Player One, Ernest Cline nos adentra en un futuro próximo en el que la sociedad planetaria está sumida en un vórtice de miseria que obliga a sus habitantes a aislarse en una realidad virtual en la que todo es posible. El planteamiento del libro me pareció brillante, y de alguna manera extrañamente profetico, de alguna manera parece que sea la tendencia en la que se dirige nuestra sociedad. Pero Ernest Cline no pretende crear un crítica social demasiado pesada, todo lo contrario, su libro es más bien una aventura, una búsqueda en la que se mezcla el mundo geek de los videojuegos con una visión increíblemente imaginativa. Hacía tiempo que no leía un libro que me mantenía tan pegado a sus páginas, la idea de la búsqueda de un huevo de pascua escondido en el videojuego más famoso del planeta crea un ritmo en la novela trepidante, lleno de sorpresas y en la que el lector tiene muy poco margen para aburrirse. Espero que Ernest Cline escriba una secuela porque sinceramente, al terminar la novela tuve sensación de querer seguir adentrándome en el mundo de Oasis y de Parzival, Art3mis y Hache.
