After reading Ready Player One, I have to say that I needed to continue reading more stories written by Ernest Cline; so when I saw his new novel Armada, I didn't think twice and I started reading it. The truth is that the story of Armada has a lot in common with Ready Player One; from the eighties pop culture inspiration to the use of futuristic technology, from the asocial main characters to the many video games references. On the negative side, I have to say that I had the feeling that in some parts of the novel the rhythm was a bit slow, the battles were a bit repetitive and the story of the main character, despite it's much deeper and more dramatic than the RPO, I found it too predictable. So, I can't say that I've fallen in love with Armada as much I did with Ready Player One, but in general, I enjoyed it a lot. I think the novel Armada is a good science fiction novel, entertaining and fun in equal parts. If you enjoy reading Ready Player One then, Armada could become your next favorite novel! ; D

Al terminar de leer Ready Player One tenía un mono enorme de seguir leyendo más historias del escritor Ernest Cline así que cuando vi su novela titulada Armada no me lo pensé dos veces y empecé a leerla. La verdad es que la historia de Armada tiene muchos puntos en común con Ready Player One; desde referencias a la cultura pop ochentera, uso de tecnología vanguardista, personajes algo asociales y sobretodo, muchos pero que muchos videojuegos. Armada me ha gustado pero no puedo decir que me haya enamorado como lo hizo Ready Player One. Como puntos negativos tengo que decir que he tenido la sensación de que le faltaba algo de ritmo a la historia; a veces las batallas se me hacían algo repetitivas y la historia del personaje, pese a ser más profunda que la de RPO, la encontré demasiado previsible. Pero aparte de esto creo que la novela de Armada es una buena novela de ciencia ficción, entretenida y divertida a partes iguales. Si habéis leído Ready Player One y sobre todo si os ha gustado, esta puede ser vuestra siguiente lectura! ;D
