it was amazing

I got this book for Christmas that year. This was my first ever Anne Rice book, and it was about a year after Interview With A Vampire came out as a movie with Brad Pitt, Christian Slater and Tom Cruise. I was blown away people. If you like a story, like Gone With the Wind on crack, no seriously, epic like that, except VERY ADULT (don't let your tweens get their hands on this one Mom's and Dad's!), but such an addicting read that you may just get fired for calling in sick over it.

This was far and away my favorite Anne Rice novel, and any of the other sequels and prequels that go with it, and a major recommendation from me on great, compelling, lose-yourself type reading.

Raymond Fundora A spot on review! I think it's Rice's best book!

RunForTheRoses Hey thanks Raymond! I get on here so rarely, but this is a great site, will try and visit more often..

Raymond Fundora I just joined, and I love it!

Carol Velasquez I just joined the site and I love this book so much that I was reading people's reviews of it. So nuce to see others who appreciate this sprawling, epic tale as much as I do.

Edee Fallon I couldn't agree with you more. Although I read the entire vampire chronicles ( up to that point) and fell in live with Anne Rice and I picked this book up at the age of fourteen I think and was in love with this book from cover to cover. It's still the longest book I've ever read multiple times. Perfect review by the way.

Karen what do you mean VERY ADULT ? I saw this book in the library and i wanted to read it. Is there, um, sexual scenes there?

SOO sorry for the late reply, so guessing by now you've read the book! Yes, it's got pretty steamy sex, just not something I'd want my ten year old reading thinking it was a bit like the Harry Potter series ;)

Hope you're having a nice summer, take care!

Cathy

Dianae I started this last summer then put it down after the first 200 pages. Thought I lost interest but now I think the intensity was too much. Yes, it's haunting and now realize that's why I put it down. Needed a break from the intensity!

Megan I am going to read this book purely on your recommendation that it is like Gone With The Wind on crack!!

Valencia Currently reading it. Found it at the thrift store and the sequel as well, $2 for both. Read the wolf gift n sequel n truly enjoyed it.

Margo "Gone with the wind on crack"! I love it!!!

Sanaz Ahmadi Read it when I was 14, turned out pretty alright anyway :) Much of the finesse of the language is lost on a 14 year old, so it's not as explicit to them.

Michele Ceron I agree, this is my favorite book of all time and I have read it over 5 times

RunForTheRoses I really want to thank all of you that took the time out to like my review it’s an older review but I did put a lot of time and thought into it - so thank you everyone!
