really liked it

I think sometimes the books have a few too many characters and suspects thrown at you and my eyes kinda glaze over and I lose interest a bit ... "a bit", I said. Not completely. A priest is murdered while saying a funeral mass and his death leaves a lot of stones unturned.

She wondered if there was a particular saint she could hit up for enough patience to get through this interview without screaming.

There is a patron saint for everything, Eve. Trust me. religion was drummed into me for years. I should know.

"Have we been everywhere you've got a house?"

"Not yet."

"Why don't you have one in Ireland?"

"Would you want one there?", he asked her.

She didn't have to consider, and she wasn't surprised by her answer. Not when she looked at him.

"I've got what I want."

You sure do, Eve. You lucky bitch.

And, Roarke, you are a lucky bastard to have Eve.

Quotes Mo Liked

J.D. Robb
“Eve: What is it about asking you Catholic questions that gets you all jumpy?

Roarke: You'd be jumpy, too, if I asked you things that make you feel the hot breath of hell at your back.

Eve: You're not going to hell.

Roarke: Oh, and have you got some inside intel on that?

Eve: You married a cop...you married me. I'm your goddamn salvation.”

Gisela Good review, Mo. And I agree with you, too many characters decrease my attention span, since I have to bookmark them and go back and forth to get them straight. Advanced age and so forth...

Mo LOL! Advanced aged indeed. xx 😘

Ira A great review Maura, I'm not sure if he is the one I had in mind but I think that hot priest will make more appearance in the future:)

Thanks Ira. I sort of wondered about that. He seemed to get on with Roarke and he was a pivotal character in the book ... so look forward to meeting him again. x

Aisling Zena Awesome review Mo! Love these two so much! :)

Mo Thanks Aisling xx 😘

Doreen Quansah I love Nora Roberts and I don't think that's going to change any time soon.

Jo-an Torres Why was it written in the FUTURE? That just bothered me for some reasin and i could not get past it .. Affected my concentration .. Any ideas?

message 9: by Stefanie (new)

Stefanie Hey Mo; I may be crazy but that beautiful church in the picture wouldn't be
Mary Star of the Sea in San Pedro, CA , Would it? I'll swear on that church it looks like exact duplicate.

I thought it would bother me Jo-an as I am not in to books like that but, honestly, I did not even notice it... there was nothing OTT futuristic about it... except maybe flying cars (I think).

message 11: by Stefanie (new)

Stefanie Jo-an and Mo: The books are written in the future but only fifty (50) years
The first book "Naked In Death" mentioned in story line or Authors mention...

Gisela The fact that there was no coffee was automatically a no-read decision for me. I can’t imagine a morning without coffee, silly as it might sound! ☕️
