really liked it

This one was a lot of fun. (Look at that awesome cover! heh heh meeeow)

Running from an arranged marriage into the arms of man who mail ordered a wife- (no worries, she really wasn’t going to honor said agreement)- Sharisse Hammond can’t believe the predicament she’s gotten herself into… and how much the rugged land and the man who is taming it, stirs her blood. So she sticks around for awhile despite plans otherwise.

Lucas has plans of his own and it all centers on destroying the man who killed his father for the Holt gold mine. But something about the striking red head makes him want to make her his. When she resists for reasons she hasn’t shared, his gun slinging twin brother Slade gives her the final push.

But things aren’t what they seem on the Holt ranch and one too many lies from the Holt brothers sends her running back home.

Putting his complicated feelings for his woman aside, Lucas has to finish what he begun – then he will be free to claim her properly. If she is willing to have him in return by then….

There are several similarities to my absolute fav by JL A Heart So Wild- white man gun slinging hero who grew up with Native Americans and became blood brother to tribe, revenge plot against baddie who killed Hero’s family, rich heiress who falls in love with the bad boy gun slinger, hero keeping secrets from heroine and vice versa- it’s all so ridiculous- but I flat out love JL’s western romances.

Linda Oh, the Smart B!tches would have a great time commenting about that cover!

RachelW (BamaGal) Lol. Do they still blog or have a website?

message 4: by Linda (new)

Linda A website. I rarely go there anymore so I don't know if they're as hilarious as they used to be.

The story is that the author felt like a little tit for tat was due- ie her covers would always have the men half nekkid (or completely nekkid as the case may be), rather than the women! Good Bless her... :D

RachelW (BamaGal) Hmmm...I feel a need to take a sightseeing tour of JL's covers... :)

EDIT: Ehhh, this was the best one. The only one that comes close is Fires of Winter (Haardrad Viking Family, #1) by Johanna Lindsey

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) I have many of JL's books with those covers. My hubby wants me to get rid of them. : /

Zeek my fav are still the Fabio covers 😁

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) With the wind blowing through his hair Gentle Rogue (Malory-Anderson Family, #3) by Johanna Lindsey Savage Thunder (Wyoming, #2) by Johanna Lindsey Warrior's Woman (Ly-San-Ter, #1) by Johanna Lindsey

RachelW (BamaGal) Ha! Last time I saw a pic of Fabio it was on a roller coaster with a dead bloody bird caught in his hair...or maybe it was his margarine commercial... lol

Linda Ha! These are some of the many reasons I read on an iPad. I can peek at the covers whenever I want a giggle but no one else will see and judge me for them.

Zeek ha! before e readers we folded the covers back or propped it on our laps. the ambitious gals even bought book covers for public transportation reading :D and speaking of... is there anything more sexy than a man reading on a subway? :p

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Ha! If he's wearing a turtleneck and wire-rimmed glasses while reading then he's sexy as hell!
