really liked it
bookshelves: x-2017, series, z-type-dragons, first-read-arc-or-author-given, pnr, fantasy

I really wasn't invested for the first 1/4-1/3 as many stories were going at once and I wasn't sure where the story was going. The plot is the main part of this, not the romance. These books might have started as romantic fantasy but they are pretty much fantasy with a romance attached at the main storyline. There are always many storylines going at once now. Since I'm reading a Netgalley copy on my Kindle, I have to get sit down time. The beginning just didn't pull me back to sit down to read. The ending is great, all wrapped up, though she did leave an opening for a future series.

There is the crazy dragon fun and we get to see all the dragons from the books before. This is not a book for someone that has not kept up with the series. This kind of wraps up all the couples of before and their children along with the war with the zealots, yea! Still I wanted a little more of the main couple and getting into the plot lines took a little bit of time. So a solid 4 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for the copy.

Robin I like all the plot lines. I like the characters in this series so well I'm disappointed if I don't get lots of past and present characters sprinkled in.

Amyiw I felt like it took away from the main couple and they weren't so main. That has been the change in the format of this series though. The reason I end up liking it is the other characters but thinking more on it, I would have given this a 3 1/2. Still it did wrap up a bunch of plot lines that have been going on for a while, so the bump up is deserved, IMO. I don't know, I liked it better when it focused a bit more on the main couple and highlighted their personality and issues. It seems like a lot of the characters in the later book have the same crazy, ultra fighter, personalities. I'm not as excited to read them as the first few.

Robin Do you think the last few books are less PNR and more Fantasy or just this one. I can see it with this one because she tied up a lot of lose ends and of course I don't remember much except the characters from anything that came before.
