it was amazing
bookshelves: horror, mount-tbr, own, 2024

Did I just read my favorite book of the year with 11 more months to go?! Absolutely.

I’m going to have a book hangover after this one.

I laughed. I cried. I felt all the emotions while getting lost while reading a Boy's Life.

On this journey with Corey Mackenson, I felt the magic, the whimsy, and the adventure.
In my opinion, this book had perfect pacing, excellent writing, and characters to love forever.

Just one of the best books out there!!

Heidi I love this author— his characters are evocative of Dickens but I’ve not yet read any books that aren’t taking place a few hundred years ago. Sounds like he write for any era!!

Renee Roberts Glad you enjoyed it, Ginger! That's the one that got me started on Robert McCammon. That one is wonderful, and the others I've read convinced me to buy lots more of his books.

I love McCammon as well Heidi!
I knew that I needed to get to this one sooner than later. This one is set during 1960s and it's so well done. He really does do a good job of setting the scene in another time period!

I'm also bullying my husband to read it now too. 😃 hahaha!

Brian Skinner I think "Dandelion Wine" by Ray Bradbury inspired this book. It has the same atmosphere.

Great to know Brian! I still need to get to that one and I can tell McCammon was giving a nod to Bradbury in this book.
