This didn’t live up to the hype for me. It was interesting and well written, some observations were sad but beautiful. Each main character was interesting and distinct. However I wasn’t hooked, instead I made my way slowly but surely through about 5% at a time to begin with.

Lizzie Stewart This is on my list! How did it feel reading about a plague during a plague?

Cooper Lee Bombardier It felt eerie! Great novel.

Definitely eerie. Particularly the descriptions of an empty New York

I've been avoiding any pandemic related books so it was sort of unintentional. I saw a lot of good reviews for this book but avoided reading too much about it so I didn't really know what it was about. However it was interesting to see how much was sort of predicted!

Lisa (NY) I loved this novel but wonder if it would have been difficult to read in 2020.

Yes it was a little unsettling!

Tristan Robin Blakeman Oh, dear. LOL I just bought this. I think I'll give it a while before getting into it. LOL

Haha well I hope you enjoy it when you do read it

Kim Lockhart This is such an interesting point, that a novel can change for us, depending on when we read it. I bet I would have a totally different experience reading this for the first time now, versus when it came out and seemed mostly theoretical. Have you already read Station Eleven? I'd be interested to know how a reader engages with that book before vs. during a pandemic.
