** spoiler alert **
I want to start out by saying that this is my first book by this author and it was great. She writes with so much feeling that you can’t help but feel like a part of the story. I laughed, I cried, I blushed, I fanned myself, I got pissed, I got annoyed. So many emotions....and that’s how you know you read a great book. This book started out as a 5 star for me. I absolutely loved me some Gray, definetly dibs...called him and there is a Bitmoji tee pic out there of that very thing. I loved these two at the beginning and Gray is definitely my guy. He was everything you could want in a guy, sweet, thoughtful, sexy-sex-machine-alpha...dibs, seriously these two were burning up my kindle. India was sarcastically funny and a huge handful, I mean a really large handful with huge relationship hang ups, I definitely understood them, but my poor Gray😩.
These two met a year prior and it takes her that long to call him with the number he programmed into her phone, he wanted her to be able to reach him. One year for her to call him and believe me when I say their chemistry is crazy high. But she’s down on her luck and finally calls him. He is absolutely smitten with her crazy and is finally able to break her down and agree to move in with him. My Gray is able to handle her pretty well, and he has to...All. The. Time. Everything was going pretty good and I really liked both characters, well I adored the one for sure, but about 75% into it, she started really upsetting me with her constantly trying to push him away, but since he is a grown up, he saw and understood what was happening, then boom, she meets his family and realizes she had a tryst with his brother-in-law, that makes for a “nice” family dinner *shakes head*. I understand that some people want to be free with their time, but it always comes back to bite them in the booty one way or another....poor Gray, luckily she told him immediately about her past tryst. Then at 90% into it, she pissed me off so bad that I was pretty much done with her. She has a run in with a long lost family member, freaks out, because that’s what she does and leaves my Gray to go to another party, on another hotel floor with one of her past hook-ups. What does my Gray do, he waits in the lobby for her, the whole time wondering if she is sleeping with someone else...wtaf. No, just no, any bit of like I had for her vanished at that moment, because Gray didn’t deserve to even wonder shit like that, nobody does. Did she do anything? No. Did I think she would? No. But it’s the point and he loved her so much, he would’ve worked through it....because he is f*cking awesome. My Gray puts up with a lot of crap from her and I just didn’t like it. She keeps pushing him away, time and time again, and honestly it just really got old for me, the last time pushed me over the edge.
I believe this is technically a safe read, because neither were with others after meeting, I would call it safe with exception for some of the later things, may bother others like it did me. He for sure isn’t with anyone after meeting her in the coffee shop and she hasn’t been with anyone in over a year, since this is a year later, I assumed she hasn’t been with anyone since meeting him either. A little om and ow drama, along with all the drama India brings to the book. Older man, younger less mature woman. No babies, just a lot of baby making, these two have chemistry for days, like make-her-sore-can’t-walk-but-she-loves-it chemistry. Epilogue and hea. I would definitely read another book by this author, because she is an excellent writer, hopefully with a lot less couple drama.
