it was amazing
bookshelves: contempt-romance, favorites, feel-good

i just reread this for the first time and i’m obsessed. possibly a new comfort book? this made me remember why i so throughly love romance books.

"God knows I never sought anything in you except yourself; I wanted simply you, nothing of yours."

This was such a romantic book. Most of my reviews include complaints because authors want to do insta-love, but it never worked. Melanie Harlow seems to be good at changing my mind.

The story isn't that long, but I fell in love with the story of Mia and Lucas. The setting of Paris really adds to the story. Lucas was a wonderful tour guide and knew everything a local should know about Paris.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a quirky romance. Everything about this was sweet and romantic. Listen to La Vie En Rose while reading and you'll feel the romance in the air.

"Any requests?" he asked.
"Take off your pants."
He grinned at me over his shoulder "I meant music."

Mia is strong and organized. Her life functions better when there are lists and everything is planned out. Her fiance left her a week before the wedding and suddenly she's in a whirlwind romance.

Lucas was the epitome of sexy and sweet. Half American and French he's working over the summer in Paris before he heads back to NYC. It would be difficult to not love him. He was everything Mia needed. I probably would've fell in love with him too. (view spoiler)

As I said, I get really worried when I read something that seems like it's going to be insta-love. I feel that love blossoms when you have time to really get to know someone. In a few days Mia and Lucas seemed to have connected. Their chemistry was undeniable.

This trip is paid for, and if you don't go, then Coco and I are going, and we might love it so much we'll decide we're a lesbian couple and stay there without you."
"You're not her type," I said. But I allowed her to pull me to my feet. "Coco goes for tall, dark, and tattooed. That little heart above your ass doesn't count."
