I'm Lilly Grace Evans and this is the true account of how I ended up falling for a boy who made me believe love is anything but conventional. Love, for those lucky enough to experience it, is extraordinary.

I'm in awe that such a short story has left me speechless and with tears in my eyes. Most people love reading because we love watching the story unfold. We love seeing the characters we root for succeed and achieve their goals. The happiness that comes from finishing an amazing book is exactly what I'm feeling right now.

The romance genre is a hit or miss theme. There are copious amounts of books about romance, but not all of them succeed in making you believe that two people are truly in love. Johnson wrote a breath taking romance that has your heart racing and your eyes watering. This book was simply pure. It's a romance book that everyone should read.

In a short amount of pages I am more than just a believer. I've become a damn dreamer. I will dream of Lilly and Colton. Two people who understand the struggles of love. Two people who found love at a young age and learned how to work through the problems. Two people who found love within one another that ended up being magical.

"I have to ask. Why do you like me?"
He shifted away from me then, his brows pulled together making him look even cuter, if that was possible. "I don't understand the question." His hands were squeezing mine tightly as he looked down at them.
"You're my Lilly, You've always been my Lilly."

Lilly has been a clumsy girl since childhood, and it followed her until her teens. She's just like any other girl except for the one thing that changed her life--a boy. "It begins with a boy and it ends with a boy, but what story doesn't?" She never did anything exceptional except meeting someone who taught her it was okay to color outside of the lines.

Called special or different, Colton is just a teenage boy that sees the world differently. Art is his favorite form of communication. There has been a constant theme amongst his paintings since childhood and that's Lilly. The girl struck by lightning and survived. The girl whose name means beautiful. The girl who took a chance on him.

Love isn't linear. It's not always easy. Love isn't always about coloring in the lines and following the rules of society. Love can be more. It's hard and confusing, but worth the fight. With the right person, love can be exceptional.

I don't believe there's such a thing as conventional love. Love is bending. Love is breaking. Love is constantly learning about the other person until you go crazy because it will never be perfect, but there's no fault in trying.
