It took me a while to finish this book. No idea why it was so hard for me to get into it, I used to love the series. Or rather, I used to love book 1 - I've read it many times. I also remember really enjoying the first few chapters of this one when they first came out.

I struggled with Edward's character this time around. Being in his head felt pretty exhausting, what with all the thoughts he could hear, Alice's visions and his inner monologues. There were also certain things he did that I used to find romantic in book 1, but reading about them from his POV felt really creepy.

In my opinion, the book could have been shorter. I don't mind long books, but there were scenes in this one that really dragged for me to the point where I was skimming through them and I felt they affected the pace of the story.

Even though this book didn't give me the same feelings as the original series, I still think it was an ok read. I did enjoy seeing some parts of the story from Edward's point of view. It made me like some characters even more, and some other even less. And I really liked the epilogue.

Thank you, Luline! ❤️ It certainly dragged for me 😉

Rosabel The first time I read this book I was a teenager, so the obsession with it ran deep. Now I've changed and grown and realized that Edward's actions were a little creepy. Maybe thats what happened to you? Growing up sucks! Lovely review. ❤🥰

Simone - on indefinite hiatus - Yay! You made it! ;-) Sorry it didn't work better for you, Snjez, but great honest review! <3 I've always been #TeamJacob *lol* (so this one doesn't interest me), but maybe because I watched the movies first and was so not a fan of Robert Pattinson... ;-)

Shile (Hazard's Version) on-hiatus Maybe it's because this is years later. It might feel off. Fab review Snjez. 💕

It's definitely possible that I've just outgrown the series. 🤷 Thanks so much, Rosabel! ❤️

I made it! 😂 I've always been #TeamEdward, but I guess he looks better from Bella's POV. The less you know about him, the better. 😉 I sort of liked RP as Edward, but I've always had a love/hate relationship with the movies. I enjoyed watching them, but at the same time felt annoyed whenever something was different from the books. 😂

Thanks so much, Simone! 💕

Apparently, it is. 😀 Too bad I'm not into it the way I used to be. 😉
Thank you, Johann! ❤️

I think so, too. I was thrilled when I found out it was going to be published after all. Too bad I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected.
Thanks, Shile! ❤️

Lisazj1 Great review Snjez! I think that's why I've been dragging my feet on this one. I don't want to not like it. :/

Elisa Glendenning (on hiatus) Agree with you Snjez - in retrospect, I think I rated this higher out of loyalty to the author 😬. Great review ❤️

Claude's Bookzone Great review :)

I get that. I mean, it took me almost 2 months to finish it. 😅 There were a lot of ups and downs while reading this. I did enjoy some parts, but then I would lose interest for a while. Maybe it's me, I've read book 1 too many times and know most of the dialogues too well, so those parts didn't hold my interest. 🤷

I hope you'll enjoy it whenever you decide to read it! 🤞
Thank you, Lisa! ❤️

Thanks so much, Elisa! ❤️ That's exactly why I wanted to finish this book, dnf was not an option. 😅

I think that listening to this story on audio would be even more exhausting. 😬 Good luck if you decide to continue! ❤️
Thank you, Celeste! 🙂

Ariana (mostly offline) Super review, Snjez! Just a shame it didn’t 100% deliver.

LOL. Yeah, I get you. I was lucky I watched the movies before I read the books and I think I only made it to book #3 because I found them too drawn-out and boring. 😱🤭 And RP was a bit too smarmy for my taste, but tall, dark and mysterious is more my type anyway. 😉😘

Yeah, I wish I enjoyed it more. Thank you, Ariana! 💗

Same here. Each next book in the series got a lower rating than the previous one. 😬

Lyn❤Loves❤Listening to Real Voices Only!!!!❤️🎧📚 Addict ON HIATUS It's the rare long book that doesn't feel long winded. It's a win that you managed to finish it. 😉 Great review, Snjez 😘

Nazanin Wonderful review, Snjez! I read a couple of chapters a few weeks ago and then put it on hold! It was toooooo slow for my taste! 💟

LOL Thanks so much, Lyn! 💕 It did take me long to finish it. I would read a few pages and then I wouldn't pick it up for days, because I'd read something else in the meantime. So two weeks ago I banned myself from reading anything new until I finish this one. 😂

Thanks so much, Nazanin! 💕 I agree with you, it does feel very slow and it's not the number of pages. 🤷

Rin Great review, Snjez !! I wasn't even aware there was a new book xD

Sorry that you didn't enjoy it more. It does seem a little bit ... underwhelming

Snjez Thanks so much, Rin! 💗 I expected to enjoy it more, but it was a bit underwhelming in the end.
