it was amazing
bookshelves: 2020-best, feel-good, historical-romance, slow-burn

"There is no need to silence your pleasure. Sing it to the night, my lovely wife. Let it know you are mine, and that I, alone, can make you feel this way."

» This was absolutely beautiful. It's the best KB book I've read so far, allowing it to also be one of the best books I've read in 2020. The beauty of this book isn't just the compelling romance, but the way it was told and the issues that it dealt with.

» How to Love a Duke in Ten Days dealt with a tough topic in the perfect way. KB didn't just skip the part where a survivor is still surviving, even years later. Alexandra was still healing near a decade later, and KB gave that rawness to us.

» Piers...this man is a man. It's not because he was the perfect human when helping Alexandra, no. It was the way he embraced her quirks and all. As far as historical romance heroes go, he has got to be one of my favorite.

» The ending, like most KB books, had an OTT situation. I could've done without it, but it didn't takeaway any of the beauty of Piers and Alexandra. Allowing me to look forward to book two's release in the fall.

"Our lives will take us so many places, but we'll always have each other to return to. To holiday with. To rely upon. We are bound by blood now, as tightly as any family. "
