Did you know Muslim women do not wear their hijabs at home? Did you know there's more than one way to wear one? I enjoyed this story that shows and teaches us about the many ways and places Muslim women wear hijabs.

C. (Comment, never msg). Yes, I did know. Hijabs are to equalize the genders in public by not showing feminine features. I know it is a feminist choice rather than a suppressive act. When there were evil governments, they declared that women must wear them but it was never about that.

Ms. B Thanks for sharing C. I hope you are well and enjoying some good books this fall.

C. (Comment, never msg). Please, it is Carolyn regardless of the "C" appearing. No, having quite a tough year. Yes, to enjoying very good books and our supportive and fun community here.

Debbie W. Sounds like a lovely book! I will definitely recommend it to my teacher colleagues!

Please do, another book that I really enjoyed by the same author was Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns: A Muslim Book of Colors.

Oh yes! I have read that book a few years ago to my Grade 3 students! I didn't realize until reading UNDER MY HIJAB that both books are written by the same author! Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
