Instead of flying, I’ll crawl.
Instead of climbing the ladder, I’ll squeeze through the lowest rungs.
Instead of scaling walls, you better believe I’ll dig a runner under them.
And instead of jumping a hurdle, I’ll just knock the damn thing down.

This was… a rough one. It was fcking graphic and unsettling. I entered it blind and I suggest you to do the same!!! I was invested and intrigued since the very beginning, but the ending fell flat for me and I feel so sad 😭😭 i had my suspicions and i kinda predicted the end by the 60%. I kept wanting it to switch up on me, but then it was over.

Before the ending, this was a solid 4 — 4.25 story. It was good. It was heartbreaking, but good. Seriously, I can’t even blame the guy. Justin kept saying they were psychopaths, but like… did you hear the story??!?!? And JUSTIN, that’s the other thing. I did not like him AT ALL. I don’t get why he was a psychiatrist. It would’ve made SO MUCH MORE SENSE if he was just a cop or a detective. He was god awful at his job. Didn’t named ONCE a single clinical term. Awful awful character.

I cried a lot lmao, it was just so fcking sad. Rainey really was a product of her environment. I just… it hurt too much at times, the decision she took and the ones that were taken from her. And Rowan… I actually really loved him. What he did to Megan was pretty shitty. Hated the fact that he wasn’t faithful. But like, after everything, he was just a puppy in love.

Idk, I may be too fcked up in the head, but I liked how things ended. It wasn’t surprising and it felt anticlimactic, so I can’t really give it a higher rating. And guys, ITS FICTION OKAY??? I would not feel this way if it was a real life story. I’m sure there’s a case out there similar, but I don’t know it. I just read a FICTION book. With that said, I enjoyed it a lot. And like I said, I couldn’t stop reading.

”I’ll love you forever Rainey. Protect you. Take care of you. There’s nowhere you can go where I won’t find you. Rowan and Rainey, forever.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
