Ugh. Thank goodness this was free. I was under the assumption this was a book, but after downloading it, I realized it was a novella. In fact, the whole series is comprised of novellas.

Honestly, I couldn't even finish this. I got to this pivotal scene, where the girl's (I can't even remember the main character's name, and I literally just looked away from the page) mother was just killed in front of her, she is about to be kidnapped, and strange people bust in to try and save her. Through all this action, I felt nothing. Not one single thing. In fact, I was focused more on the lack of flow from sentence to sentence than the actual events. The writing, the story, and the characters, are forced and sub-par.

Seriously, don't waste your time on this. It somehow has a 3.83 rating, butttttt...

Learn from my mistakes. Put the book down and back away slowly!

**UPDATE**

Are you freaking kidding me?! I just saw a list for Best Independent Novels and this was ranked #2. 2nd?!?! As in, THIS IS THE 2ND BEST INDEPENDENT NOVEL THESE PEOPLE HAVE READ?!? Have they been reading the same book as me?! Oh jeez, I think I just died a little on the inside... it actually, physically hurts my head when I think about people enjoying this that much.

Ashlee Ha I'm glad I didn't get this!

Samantha Lol, I try to do a good deed and shout out when a book is free (because who doesn't love free books!?) and it only comes back to bite me in the ass. I hope no one got this because they should go ahead and delete it.

Ashlee I always try to make sure it's not a novella too. I can't stand them for some reason. Maybe I haven't found the right one though.... I always feel like they're a waste of time and not nearly as fleshed out as they could be.

Samantha I agree completely. I didn't realize it was one until I had downloaded it. It's entirely possible I went into this looking for something to nit-pick about since I was disappointed about being duped, but it's also just as likely that it sucked. :/

Michele same... I was kinda pissed, and then looked at the 2nd which granted is only .99, but like 20 some pages! what a waste. I hate novellas.

Jenn You can get the full set for free from the author. I expected the same as you did,but you can gratefully thing.

message 7: by Dani (new) - rated it 1 star

Dani (lovesbooksandtea) I just got to the same point in the book (page 4, maybe?) and had to put it down. Nope.

Jenn_sb Out of curiosity, is there a possibility that these 5 star reviews are faked? Because I've looked up several poorly written, poorly plotted books, and they all receive ridiculously high reviews...You actually have to seek out the bad reviews to get a real understanding of what the book is like!
