it was amazing

Starring Lady Charlotte “Charlie” Hastings and Maximilian “Max” Devereaux, the Duke of Exmoor.

Tropes: Unrequited love, older brother’s best friend, fake engagement, and a little intrigue.

Wowza!! Max and Charlie will certainly give you all the feely-feels. I absolutely loved these two!!

I felt so bad for Charlie... the Ton constantly snickered and belittled her character, but she always managed to keep her head held high. She’s a very strong heroine and I love that she’s constantly teasing Max with her feminine wiles... poor Max never stood a chance.

Max has loads of emotional baggage and learned to harden his heart at an early age (you’ll meet his mother and understand). But the harder they resist, the harder they fall... in love. And soon Charlie starts chipping at the ice wall around his heart. I love when he finally lets go and give in to his attraction to Charlie. I was inner squeeeing all the way.

There’s a little bit of intrigue that’ll keep you glued to the pages to see how this story was going to play out. But the romance between Max and Charlie always took the lead. I highly enjoyed this book.

The amazing Amy Rose Bennet, once again, wrote a story that had me falling in love and cheering for her wonderful characters. I love getting lost in her world. She’s a brilliant writer.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.
