I've loved all the books in this series and especially this one. Lady Charlotte met her brother's best friend Max when she was sixteen and he was twenty-two. She fell for him instantly, but he always ignored her. Now she is twenty-two and had been disgraced by a rag newspaper that keeps finding new things to bring up. At a b a ll, she was in a library and a man started talking to her and after henleft, she noticed her diary was missing from her reticule. It had something she needed to get back from the man who was blackmailing her. Max helped her get it bacj, but her list was published anyway. It was amazing the lengths his mother went to to break them up. There was a lot of intrigue, but.The ending was great.
