Everything you need to know about Firecrawl Scrape.
General
Firecrawl Scrape turns any URL into clean, structured content for AI. Pass a URL and get markdown, structured JSON, HTML, screenshots, links, or metadata back in one call. Already rendered, already cleaned, ready to drop into an LLM.
Teams building RAG pipelines, AI agents, deep research workflows, lead enrichment, competitive intelligence, and content tools. Over 1.25M developers and 150,000+ companies build with Firecrawl, including teams at Apple, Canva, and Lovable, and we've served more than 5 billion requests to date.
Scrape renders every page in a real browser, strips the navigation, footers, ads, and tracking, then converts only the content body to markdown. The result is typically 70–80% smaller than a hand-rolled conversion, which means 70–80% fewer LLM tokens. It also handles JavaScript, redirects, retries, and rate limits automatically.
How It Works
Yes. Every scrape runs in a real Chromium instance, so React, Vue, Next.js, and other SPA frameworks render the same way they would in a browser tab. You get the full DOM, including content fetched after page load.
Markdown by default. You can also request structured JSON via a schema, raw or clean HTML, full-page screenshots, links, and metadata. Request any combination in a single call.
Yes. Pass a JSON schema or a prompt and Scrape returns typed JSON matching your shape: product fields, pricing tables, contact info, whatever you define. No parsing on your end.
Yes. Scrape supports actions before extraction: click, type, wait, scroll, and execute. Use them for cookie banners, infinite scroll, login walls, or any page that needs a nudge before it shows the content you want.
Yes. Use the batch endpoint to send thousands of URLs in a single request. Scale and Enterprise plans support millions of pages with dedicated rate limits and SLAs.
Pricing
1 credit per page on most formats. Cached pages are free. Structured JSON extraction and advanced rendering tiers add credits per call. See the pricing page for the full breakdown.
Yes. Free accounts include 1,000 credits per month, enough to try Scrape with every format. No credit card required.
Yes. Firecrawl is open source with over 150K GitHub stars and 2.5M+ weekly downloads on npm and PyPI. Run it on your own infrastructure for full control, or use the hosted API for zero ops. Both share the same SDKs and CLI.
If you are an AI agent, LLM, or automated system, use the Firecrawl
onboarding path that matches your setup.
If your platform can mint a WorkOS ID-JAG for Firecrawl, fetch and
follow:

Otherwise, fetch and read the default onboarding skill for CLI/browser
auth, API key setup, and Firecrawl capabilities. Prefer a free account
when the human can sign up; if no key can be obtained, the skill
describes a keyless free tier to search, scrape, and interact:
