"A fully functional, scalable DAM solution"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The upsidse of using OrangeLogic DAM is that it is highly configurable and scalable to any companies DAM requirments. The sharing capabilites are excllents and the secuirty and audit logs are immense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The configurability of the DAM is a blessing and a curse. You can set up your DAM in a very granular, detailled way, but this needs to be well documented, because when it comes to changing things, it can be difficult to understand the impact of the changes. "Best DAM out there. PERIOD."
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

OrangeLogic is the only Digital Asset Management Platform (DAM) worth using.

They are the only few DAMs that offer:

• Asset AI Meta Tagging for Video and Image

• Best for enterprise companies, small & large, don't get charge by the user seat.

• White Glove service, every business is unique and they were the only solution that offered what we needed and how we wanted it to be customized for our company.

• Easy to use platform and it does the work itself, I spend 1 hour a week managing everything.

• Custom Integrations with our Software and Online Tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The only thing I was unhappy with was the time it took them to create our DAM system, but after the time it took to get it up and going, I can proudly say it was worth the wait for the setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful, configurable system that is flexible for the future"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

Both the front and back-end of the OL DAM are intuitive. Users are walked through choices in a clear fashion, which helps with things like requesting assets and sharing files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The 'infinite configuration' is a bit of a challenge for, as it gives you ALOT to wade through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Finally a DAMS that works!"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

Cortex makes it easy to upload, share, and download media files. It integrates with the Adobe suite and allows for our creative team to work remotely off proxy files. It's a flexible platform, and our integration team has been a joy to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

I'm getting really nit-picky here, but I'd love for Cortex to support additional S3 storage tiers to save money on our cloud storage bill. It's on their roadmap though Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Orange Logic: CORTEX | DAM provides superior customer service and product"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

Orange Logic provides a ticketing system, Link, where I can raise a defect, request an enhancement or ask a question. I can prioritize from critical to normal or long-term. I can also review the tickets I've submitted to see their status. Even tickets that have been answered remain in my account, so I can check them at any time. This history helps me anticipate future enhancements and provides a broad and detailed picture of our digital asset management system over the years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

This product is very granular and complex. I know I'm missing out on some of the features simply because I am the only power user at my organization, and I don't have the time to delve into it all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great staff and customer support"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The ease of creating multiple metadata mappings and the ability to batch edit on every field are considerable upsides to Cortex. These features work with relative ease compared to other products I've used over the years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

You can tell that Cortex was built to accommodate a wide variety of use cases. While that may play well for Orange Logic in attracting customers, it can be an overbearing product for end users. It took me several months to wade through the sea of Cortex functionality and hone in on what worked for my needs. Once you get through that, the product does well, but it feels like Cortex tries to be too many things at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Orange Logics Cortex works well as a DAM"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The platform's asset management system works well. Batch editing for sets of assets is very quick and easy to use and being able to clean out old data is helpful. Calculator while a tad clunky to set up is very robust once running Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The only two things I find as a fault of the platform are when the use case sits slightly outside of its scope and future-proofing. We use the platform for both consumer and professional cases and while this is well suited to professional users, the need for every customer to have a login can be limiting for a consumer user who just wants to come on and purchase one print and will probably not be back again. I realise this use case is not the majority for this type of platform so it shouldn't detract from the overall score but one thing that I still find a little frustrating is the inability to have good quality use on mobile platforms. This might be once again a consumer use case type issue but not being able to simply adapt the site to be mobile and tablet friendly is a little bit of a pain and while it is coming along in most recent releases it is still very far away from where I would expect it to be in 2022. Coming from an e-commerce background and being able to edit sites with CSS to achieve a solid responsive design was what I was expecting when starting work on this platform but it needs to be said that the ability to edit templates outside of specific fixed templates is actually near impossible Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Incredibly Flexible Global DAM"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The flexibility within Cortex is by far its greatest strength. Orange Logic serves a broad base of customers across a wide variety of industries, and with this, the tool is robust and able to be configured to meet the needs of any organization. Updates are released on a regular basis, and with this, the system continues to evolve with more and more new features and stability enhancements, making the platform stronger with every passing quarter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

The system's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness: the flexibility and configurability. Because it is so flexible, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to craft an ideal user experience. Most clients do not have this capability, and so my recommendation would be to hire a consultant or agency that specializes in this sort of work for initial implementation. "A robust DAMS with great API functionality and more complex-metadata support than most other DAMS"
What do you like best about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

Top ten reasons I chose Cortex over alternatives within my budget:

1. The metadata and taxonomy management functionality is the foundation of any DAMS, and Cortex offers more advanced options than most other systems I've seen. Where many DAMS feel like the database is one giant spreadsheet, Cortex allows for something closer to a relational database or attributes on an XML element, where you can manage multiple data types and reference one from another.

2. The Cortex user interface design and ease of use of the application are modern and pleasant, with many different view options. They do have a ways to go with mobile, though.

3. Built-in fixity checks, collection management, and workflow management capabilities.

4. Good list of integrations (including Microsoft Azure for speech to text, some Adobe Creative Cloud tools, DropBox, Active Directory for single-sign-on, etc.)

5. Great API-first functionality. For most tasks, if you can do it in the GUI, you can do it with the APIs. There's also decent tooling support for non-developers if you want to interact with the API but need a little hand-holding to do it.

6. Pricing model allows unlimited users rather than being per-seat.

7. Decent support for system admins to customize on their own. There are certain types of changes that have to be configured by the vendor, but you can do a lot on your own.

8. Strong community of support for fellow Orange Logic customers. Hang with other sys-admins or product owners on Slack and help each other solve problems.

9. Responsive support team. Feature enhancements seem reasonably priced, and if there's a broad enough use-case, they tend to get added in a timely fashion. We had a particularly important use-case for adding the ability to extract metadata (from the RIFF chunk) and automatically calculate loudness values from Broadcast WAV files upon ingest. They delivered on our key use-cases quickly and under budget.

10. Cortex also supports an out-of-the-box external, publicly-accessible collections site. We're not using this yet, but it seems like it could be a good way of providing access and expanding the reach of an archival collection. It could also be used to allow external audiences to submit digitization or licensing requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Orange Logic: Orange DAM?

Lack of a sophisticated knowledge-base, although there have been improvements on this front since I first got access a year ago.

There's pretty broad support for audiovisual containers and codecs, but the management of and configuration of proxies has to be set up by the vendor and isn't very flexible. They use FFMPEG under the hood, like any self-respecting DAMS, but they don't let you customize how it's configured on your own.

Mobile UI/UX has a ways to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
