"Seamless InDesign Integration for Remote Teams, Secure File Management"
What do you like best about Canto?

The integrations are particularly useful for remote workers who use InDesign. They help my team work from anywhere while ensuring that their files remain stored in a secure, backed-up environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

We have encountered some challenges with mapping metadata fields during our migration. This feature is essential for us, and we are eager to see it resolved soon. Customer support has been making a strong effort to help us address this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Content Management with a Learning Curve, But Worth the Effort"
What do you like best about Canto?

Canto has allowed my team to organize our content in a way that makes sense for us and our customers who have access to our Brand Portal. I enjoy the ability to tag, keyword, and cross assign assets to multiple folders where needed, instead of having to upload the same file several times in different folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

There can be a bit of a learning curve in terms of best-practices on how to best organize your content, but their webinars and new updates have made it more self-explanatory. It's not a one-size-fits-all, but if you put in the strategy and work to create a system that works best for you, it will be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great platform to house all your content in one place."
What do you like best about Canto?

My experience with this platform has been nothing but positive. One of my favorite features in Canto is how easy it is to manage file updates. I can simply replace an existing file without needing to delete or reupload anything, and all the previous versions are stored in the version history for easy reference. This makes asset management incredibly efficient. It’s intuitive and saves me a lot of time when uploading and sorting content.

As a creative designer using Canto daily, I rely on it heavily throughout my workflow. It’s a dependable resource I constantly reference while developing new materials. On top of that, the customer support team is always quick to respond and very helpful whenever I need assistance. Canto is extremely user friendly, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone managing a large volume of digital assets across teams or departments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

The only area of Canto that I find slightly inconvenient is the need to create albums within folders, rather than being able to drop files directly into a folder. That said, I understand this structure supports better organization, so I wouldn't necessarily change it. Another thing that would be helpful is when you delete files if you are able to just delete a version versus the whole item. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Maeghan Durbin of Canto

Nikeeta,

WOW—this review made my day! We love to hear that our customers feel so supported by our customer support team (they're pretty great)! We're also glad to hear that you find the platform user-friendly and that it helps you in handling multiple types of assets as a graphic designer.

We understand your feedback about creating albums within folders and will definitely take it into consideration for future improvements. If you have any more suggestions or questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for recommending Canto, and we look forward to continuing to support you!

"Efficient, User-Friendly, and Reliable"
What do you like best about Canto?

The best thing about canto is how quickly you are able to view assets once you've uploaded them. The search works really well, and there's loads of time saving features like AI tagging and creating upload links so that our photographers can upload directly into the system. It's been very straight-forward to implement and it's naturally integrated in our workflow. We use Canto most days and its reliable and does a great job of helping us find the right images so we can focus on design. On a few occasions where we've needed additional support, the customer support has been excellent and you feel valued as a customer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Like any big business, they are led by their clients and build their platform in response to the different scales and requirements that they need. As a smaller use case, some of the new features like Brand Studio look amazing, but they aren't realistic for us as our requirements are weighted differently to the different packages they offer. In an ideal world I'd love to see a basic package with one admin, then the option to add additional template and exports so that it works for our use case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Portal Feature Boosts Organization and Adoption of Materials"
What do you like best about Canto?

The Portal feature is the most useful for our business. Being able to sort and show assets in multiple portals as the needs of different areas of the business dictate is incredibly useful.

The way the system handles duplicates and allowing to see and view similar files easily is also a feature we use regularly and helps to keep things organised and tidy across our remote teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

The UI of Canto can sometimes feel a little dated, but the usability of it is very good, so doesn't impact too much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile app and place to keep all digital assets organized"
What do you like best about Canto?

Canto is one of the best DAM software, with great features and connectors for users.

Even this software can also be used for marketing and collaboration work, its best place to store and manage all the digital content like images, graphics, marketing content, templates designs, videos or product information managed in it. Which enables to access all this things easily when ever needed.

Integration with so many third party design application or marketing application is allowed with this software and even it can be used with web services too.

The software has complete set of all features needed for asset management and marketing, tries to keep all the data organized and arranged in it in required folders, so it becomes easier for users to access and navigate.

Canto always tries to make the workflow easier for all the users, with the help of its easy to use interface.

The data syncronizing and importing from other platform is great feature of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Sometimes there are delays on web services in many cases of uploading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Canto XI Makes Asset Management Easy, But Upload Permissions Could Improve"
What do you like best about Canto?

What I love about using Canto is the ability to easily configure your digital asset management library in the best way for your end users. Their recent release of Canto XI has made finding and downloading assets easier, and I'm excited to continue our implementation and roll out these features to our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

The only limitation we've seen with Canto is the requirement of power user seats for uploads. They do have the upload link option for "guest" uploads, but it's not very scalable for managing large amounts of upload personas without Contributor licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless DAM System—No Training Needed for Partners"
What do you like best about Canto?

The best part is I dont need to upskill external partners to use our DAM system, as everything is really straight forward. I like the customer support, they answer all my question no time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

As an Admin the learning curve is steep, there is a lot of settings (dam, portal, workplace, settings, tags, keywords etc) and a lot of rules and mechanics and the setting part after a year still confusing sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Photo Tagging and Search—A Breath of Fresh Air"
What do you like best about Canto?

The ability to tag photos as we add them, and then actually be able to find them via the search function. I have had experiences with multiple other digital asset managers in the past where the search function was nearly useless and it is incredibly frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Not much. there was some difficulty at first when it came to making "shared boards" where we can add photos that non-members could access and share around. We kept having members access revoked or non-members not able to access boards that they should. Customer service was eventually able to work it out with us, however. "Indispensable Asset Management with Room for Style Guide and Sharing Improvements"
What do you like best about Canto?

Canto has become an essential tool for our organization, serving as the central hub for managing and organizing final versions of assets. Its intuitive interface and robust features make it easy to maintain consistency and streamline workflows across teams. We use Canto to store and manage finalized assets in a structured way, ensuring quick access when needed. The platform’s search functionality and ability to label relationships between assets save time and improve discoverability. It also provides analytics that allow us to monitor viewing and download activity, giving valuable insights into asset usage and engagement.

Sharing assets internally and externally is simple, whether through direct links or dedicated workspaces. The built-in style guide template helps us maintain brand consistency and share guidelines across the organization. Additionally, creating share links for workspaces enhances collaboration and ensures everyone has access to the right resources. Its combination of searchability, analytics, and sharing tools makes it indispensable for managing creative and marketing assets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

While Canto provides robust asset management features, there are certain aspects where the platform could be enhanced. The style guide feature, for instance, seems somewhat underdeveloped and can be difficult to use efficiently. Improving its usability and offering greater flexibility would greatly increase its usefulness. Additionally, as the quantity of share links increases, locating and managing them becomes increasingly cumbersome. Introducing a dedicated search function for share links would make the process much more efficient and improve the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
