"Fantastic Value for Small Teams, but a Bit Clunky"
What do you like best about Sumo Logic?

- Runtime calculated fields are incredible. Unlike Datadog (where calculated fields must be defined at ingestion time), Sumo Logic lets you define them on the fly. This is a massive productivity boost when you’re iterating on queries or exploring new log patterns.

- Outstanding value. Hosting my entire company’s logs cost roughly $100/month, which is shockingly affordable compared to Datadog or similar platforms.

- Easy integration with Heroku. The setup was quick and straightforward—no complex pipelines or custom agents required.

- Powerful search and flexibility. Once you get comfortable with its syntax, the query language is expressive and great for digging deep into logs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sumo Logic?

- Clunky UI. The interface feels dated and can be unintuitive to navigate, especially compared to modern tools like Datadog or Grafana Cloud.

- Alerting delays. Alerts tend to fire a bit slower than other platforms. Datadog, for example, seems to detect and trigger incidents faster in my experience.

- Limited ecosystem integration. For larger organizations, the lack of tight integration with APM and error-tracking tools can create friction—you end up context-switching across multiple dashboards to investigate an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable log monitoring and troubleshooting tool for quick deep dives"
What do you like best about Sumo Logic?

Sumo Logic makes it very straightforward to search through large volumes of logs when investigating issues. I like how flexible the query language is — it lets me filter down exactly what I need, correlate events, and quickly pinpoint root causes across multiple services. The real-time dashboards and saved searches also save a lot of time for recurring monitoring tasks. Overall, it’s very responsive even with high data volumes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sumo Logic?

Sometimes the learning curve for writing more advanced queries or joins can be steep for new team members. Also, when queries are very complex, they can take a bit longer to execute. A bit more guidance or templates for common troubleshooting use cases would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Exciting New App Integrations & Cloud-to-Cloud Enhancements

June 11, 2025 updates include new integrations for:

Kaltura – Monitor content management metrics like user activity and event distribution.

Bitwarden – Track high-risk events such as vault exports and SSO deactivation.

Sysdig Secure – Gain real-time visibility into vulnerabilities in containerized environments.

Updates to Gigamon Application Metadata Intelligence feature comprehensive security-focused dashboards.

Snowflake (C2C) and Akamai (C2C) sources now import richer data for better analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sumo Logic?

Search Speed for Very Large Datasets

Although Sumo Logic performs well for most queries, extremely large or complex searches can still take noticeable time.

Implementing smarter indexing or AI-assisted query optimization could speed this up.

Alert Noise Reduction

Sumo Logic provides strong alerting, but in high-volume environments, alert fatigue can become a problem.

Enhanced anomaly detection and auto-suppression for known benign patterns would help reduce noise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Insights with Sumo Logic, But Data Retention Costs Add Up"
What do you like best about Sumo Logic?

What I appreciate most about Sumo Logic is its Continuous Intelligence feature. It brings together vast amounts of diverse data and, with the help of AI, quickly transforms this information into actionable insights. This capability significantly speeds up the resolution of both security and operational issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sumo Logic?

The licensing plan imposes strict limits on data retention, so storing logs and metrics for longer periods comes with extra costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Real-Time Intelligence, Minor Latency with Historical Data"
What do you like best about Sumo Logic?

What I appreciate most is the platform's robustness as a Continuous Intelligence solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Three-Year Experience with Sumo Logic: Streamlining Log Management and Issue Resolution"
What do you like best about Sumo Logic?

I have been using Sumo Logic for the past three years, and in my experience, it has been highly effective in addressing issues across multiple environments. One of the main features I find impressive is its quick response time. For example, when we need to retrieve application logs from a server or container orchestration, we typically have to log into the container or server, locate the file path, and search for the relevant logs. However, with Sumo Logic, you can simply enter the error keyword or host details along with the error information and specify the time frame, and you’ll get all the relevant logs from the container within seconds. This is why I highly recommend Sumo Logic to others. Additionally, I’ve used the recently added Copilot feature, and my overall user experience has been excellent. I encourage Sumo Logic to continue integrating new features, such as enhanced error detection, i hope the customer support top be good at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sumo Logic?

From a user's perspective, I believe Sumo Logic could improve its UI experience, as the current interface feels outdated and resembles an older application. In my personal experience, a more colorful and modern UI would attract more users and make the platform more enjoyable to use. While the features are excellent, the pricing could be a concern. Users often evaluate whether the cost is justified by the value provided, so ensuring a balance between price and functionality is key. A great customer experience can lead to higher satisfaction and attract more customers. Additionally, I suggest enhancing the onboarding process with more intuitive tutorials or guided workflows to help new users get started quickly. Another improvement could be faster load times for dashboards Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
