"Rented a race car on vacation for the cheapest price ever!"
What do you like best about Turo?

I love how turo gives you the option for which type of vehicle you can drive, down to the make and model. I was fixated on renting out a corvette on my trip out in Vegas. Before I went to Vegas, I searched for 3.5 weeks, almost a month before the trip and could not find any places renting the type of vehicle that I wanted. I found Turo and I was able to have the exact car I wanted, ready for me the day I got there. The pick up and drop off process is simple, there are no hidden fees, the whole experience was exactly how Turo presented it whch is very rarefor most companies these days. What do you dislike about Turo?

The car that I rented did seem to drive a little weird, like the rotars or brake pads may have been old or damaged. It does not seem like Turo has much of a good policy/protocol for maintaing vehicles that are being rented out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth user experience and platform support, with a few minor gaps"
What do you like best about Turo?

Turo got me through a period where I needed an easy way to get car rentals, but didn't want to go through a traditional rental agency. I used the app pretty often on several trips to various cities. I found Turo's web and mobile apps intuitive every time, and my interactions with hosts were always positive. First, let's start with Turo's interface. It's easy to find options for the dates, price ranges, and locations you're looking for. The reservation process is relatively smooth, and as long as you pick the right vehicles and hosts, chances are good that you'll have a pleasant experience. Hosts are communicative and there are ways to get support from the platform if you're having any issues, even to get refunds or reimbursements where necessary. Overall, I find Turo easy to implement and integrate into my travel and transport operations, transparent with pricing, and timely and accountable with customer communication. What do you dislike about Turo?

One of the challenging things about Turo involves taking and submitting photos of the vehicle you're renting in the app. When you check in and out, you'll need to upload several photos through the mobile app. However, sometimes you'll be in an area where you can't get a cellular connection, such as the parking lot of a large airport. In such cases, check-in becomes a big hassle and you sometimes have to walk on foot to strange or remote locations until you can do this. So the software-hardware integration aspect of the process sometimes falls short in a way that substantially interferes with the check-in process. Turo's done an excellent job so far, but paying attention to the places where the experience breaks down for users will make the platform even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Is Turo The Best Option For Car Rental?"
What do you like best about Turo?

Turo offers the largest selection of cars via 3rd party private car rentals/ vendors than traditional car rental agencies. Many of the vendors will bring the car to your location saving you time, money, and the stress of locating the rental agency, especially in an unfamiliar town or needing transportation to get rental transportation. Car rental pricing is competitive to rental agencies as you have a larger selection of vendors to choose from and can compare vehicle types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Turo?

The 3 biggest dislikes about Turo are-

1. Some vendors fail to properly maintain their vehicles by getting needed maintenance and place renters at risk.

2. Damages to the car- mechanical, physical, or even environmental (smoke, smells) are easily blamed on the renter as many vendors are manipulating Turo's damage claims to get their cars fixed or to make extra money.

3. Most cars have minimum rental days so you are extremely limited with vehicle selections if you just need the car for one or two days.

The Turo business model is interesting but renters beware. Unscrupulous vendors can end up costing you much more than you bargained for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ease of Use"
What do you like best about Turo?

In today's world, bigger corporations and government entities are trying to control everybody through everything they can. Turo retains an open platform for individuals to still exercise their rights in a free enterprise economy to buy, sell, trade, share, what they have. The Turo app empowers both the customer and the host to go out there and get things done without a lot of hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Turo?

Like any of the newer app-based sharing systems, it can be a little weird just borrowing someone else's car. There are so many things that could be mis-construed. Like borrowing someone's house... I think a little anxiety is expected while we become more accustomed to this type of service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bad experience"
What do you like best about Turo?

You can chose the specific car, this is much better then rental cars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Turo?

1. Most of the renters will not let you cross a state border in the US. They do not write it clearly, so you need to guess. I had to rebook my trip 3 times till I started to ask apfront. Finally booked a day before- obviously for a higher rate.

2. Got a 6 year old car for the price of a new one

3. If I would book upfront- it would be so much cheaper in the rental agencies

4. Before I returned the car, I asked if I need to clean. The owner said no. Then he filed a complaint that my car was not clean enough and got extra $150 (this is for 1 month of rent period)

I opened a dispute- and they agreed with him as he has many cars, even though it was not what their terms and conditions said. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Turo made it easy for me to book a Tesla for a roadtrip"
What do you like best about Turo?

Last fall, all of the rental car companies were out of cars in Phoenix during my travel dates. It was essential to get a car to drive 2+ hrs to my destination, and thanks to Turo, I was able to rent a car for the trip! I was also considering whether or not I wanted a Tesla, and I got to rent one through Turo for my roadtrip to see how I liked it. It was a huge success! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Turo?

The only downside to using Turo is that it seemed like the cost was significantly higher than what it usually would be to rent a car. Usually we use a Costco membership to get great deals on rental vehicles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"As an independent contractor, I would drive with Turo over any other rental company"
What do you like best about Turo?

I've used Turo for both personal and business needs, and in both cases, any dollar I can save is a dollar that goes back into my pocket. I've found that Turo rentals are almost always cheaper than other car rental businesses, and I have a wider selection of cars to choose between. I like being able to pick exactly what car to drive. In the city, the more compact the car is the better parking spaces I find. And on longer trips, the more fuel-efficient the car is the more I can save on gas. I've never had a negative experience with an owner or getting a bad driver review at the end of a trip. I also like having the choice between being picked up at the airport for a small fee, or taking public transport to meet them the car owner closer to home. I've even had car owners offer free or paid add-ons like coolers and umbrellas, things you wouldn't normally fly with but would be useful for your time spent in the are. Also, I feel safer (traveling alone as a woman) in a car that looks more à propos to the area instead of in an obvious rental car. And when I'm traveling with a partner, I like that we can both apply as "drivers" for the same trip. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Turo?

The picture-taking process in the app is a bit clunky. Since you have to do it twice during your trip, that can become annoying. I would also like it if all of the add-on prices and fees were shown more clearly in search results so I could compare them more efficiently. Turo will not let you be a driver if you don't have a credit history. There are also a lot of restrictions and extra fees for drivers ages 18–25, even if they have another driver age 26+ with them.
