What do you like best about TaxDome?

We’ve been using TaxDome for our accounting firm for over a year, and it has completely transformed how we manage client communication, document sharing, and workflow automation. The all-in-one platform eliminated the need to juggle multiple tools—everything from secure messaging and e-signatures to task tracking and client portals is right here in one place.

The automation features are especially powerful. We’ve built custom pipelines that guide each client through the onboarding and tax preparation process seamlessly, saving hours of administrative time each week. Clients love the clean portal interface, and our team appreciates how easy it is to stay on top of deadlines and tasks.

Customer support has also been excellent—responsive, knowledgeable, and always open to feedback. TaxDome continues to roll out new updates that make the platform even stronger.

What do you dislike about TaxDome?

TaxDome’s pipeline automation is powerful, but setting it up initially takes time and trial-and-error. For firms without a dedicated admin or tech-savvy staff, that setup phase can feel overwhelming.

While the task tracking and client management tools are solid, reporting options are somewhat rigid. It’s hard to generate custom performance or billing reports without exporting data manually.

The mobile app is handy for quick tasks and notifications, but it’s not yet a full replacement for the desktop interface—particularly for reviewing large documents or managing pipelines.

What do you like best about TaxDome?

We've been using TaxDome for 6 months now, and it's completely transformed the way we manage our tax and accounting practice. From client communication to workflow automation, TaxDome has streamlined every part of our operations.

What do you like best about TaxDome?

It's clean Clients can sign up immediately and you could put them into an automated workflow that will have them set up as a client pretty quickly. However, task creation automation with API's and also with no shared Inbox makes it very difficult. They seem to be very stuck on certain ideas that definitely don't work that they seem to refuse to fix an update as they go through their iterations. Again, still the best so far between Karbon and Financial sense but they still have a long way to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TaxDome?

No shared Inbox email like every other Crmp or company that exists making it very frustrating to work around. They don't have any open API's, therefore creating tasks out of conversations automatically like many other applications is tough. They really need to open up their API and integrations so I can actually be more useful in working in tools like Google workspace and Intuit. There is so much that this could do that is just very slow on implementing. So I currently think they are the best available today but still far from where it should be. What do you like best about TaxDome?

Taxdome acts like an information highway for my business. It is an efficient and effective tool for my firm. Before tax dome we had many different softwares and avenues for clients to communicate and upload documents. Taxdome consolidates all of this while still able to make the process user friendly. What do you dislike about TaxDome?

The price is quite steep for supplemental software of this kind. However, it has proven to be a valuable investment when it comes to streamlining many of the challenging aspects of managing a tax firm. I can't see myself adding any of my employees to it. With just one account, we're able to handle all the operations for our small firm. What do you like best about TaxDome?

The TaxDome Print Driver was upgraded a year or so ago.

The new driver has been buggy.

Can you put the old one back?

Also the remember my authentication for 30 days doesn't work.

When a bookkeeper (business management firm, lawyer, etc) is associated with multiple clients, handling of emails and attachments requires careful attention so that documents are not mistakenly saved to the wrong account. What do you like best about TaxDome?

TaxDome has been extremely helpful in streamlining our workflows! I especially appreciate being able to view my pipelines to see where every file is in the process, when it was received, and what we might be missing to complete the file. Sending requests for documents is extremely helpful! A significant number of our clients prefer to use the online tools, which saves us a considerable amount of time compared to in-person appointments or even just accepting drop-offs. I love being able to look at a client file and find all the relevant information in one place, including communications, documents, signatures, and workflow, rather than using multiple systems. Locking documents to invoices has been a game changer! I'm no longer wasting time with phone calls or emails to remind clients that they need to pay their invoices. I can't describe the joy it brings to receive a completed organizer, with all relevant documentation, engagement letter, etc, so I can prepare a tax return, send out for approval, request signatures, and payment, all using one tool, and then get back the completed file from the client sometimes in a matter of minutes! Everything is done! All I have to do is e-file. This saves immeasurable amounts of time!

Learning the system was surprisingly straightforward. There are tons of "how-to" videos, which are extremely useful when getting started. It's a complex system, but it's very well-organized and easy to navigate. Plus, customer support is always available in chat, which made the transition much easier. We were able to move and integrate all of our client data in one upload.

What do you dislike about TaxDome?

It's a bit pricey, but I think in terms of time, it saves us; it has more than paid for itself! There are lots of templates, which are a great tool to get you started. But you need to take the time to customize the templates for your office. Once we got all of our organizers and templates set up, they are easy to use. However, they don't come fully customized "straight out of the box." New users need to dedicate time to learning and customizing everything that goes to client-facing. I recommend doing a lot of tests before releasing your first organizer, because sometimes getting everything to work just as you want it can be tricky. Once you have released a bunch of organizers, you can't change them after the fact. Send your first handful of organizers to friendly clients who will help you run down issues. This way, if you have any "bugs," you can work them out before you send to a large group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
