Won Broadway's 1997 Tony Award as Best Lighting Designer for a revival
of "Chicago." He had previously been nominated five times in the same
category: in 1974 for a revival of "The Visit," in 1978 for "Working,"
in 1979 for "Sweeney Todd," in 1983 for "Foxfire" and in 1984 for "End
of the World."
