Albert Lew is an Asian American actor and writer best known for his multi-festival selected film he wrote, executive produced, and starred in called "Safe". He was born and raised in Los Angeles before graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering as well as obtaining a Master's degree in the same field before turning his attention from professional engineering to acting and writing. He has gained a reputation for his reluctant yet thoughtful, layered characters as well as his compelling on-screen presence.
He made his film debut in a supporting role for the short film "Don't Get Comfortable" that won the 2021 Kids In The Spotlight Best Film. He was also recently co-starring with actor Eric Roberts in the upcoming short film drama "A Cotton Mind" as well as landed lead roles in other films as "The Heroic" portraying a guilt-ridden single father and "One Hundred" as a mysterious military commander making a surreal discovery in his home. In addition to lending his voice as a lead for a suspense-horror drama "Don't Look Behind", he completed roles in web pilot episodes of "Grand Jeté", "Al & Joshua" and "Rest: Mind to Matter". He made his writing debut in 2023 with the short film "Snapshots" that was filmed overseas in Lithuania, and continue venturing into his writing with upcoming films "Regret" and "Safe", both which he also starred and produced himself.
Born in Los Angeles, CA, he discovered acting while a student in elementary school from his home TV. After graduation from the aforementioned colleges, he worked full-time as an engineer and volunteered at his childhood church, soon joining its drama ministry doing stage plays and sermon skits. Despite getting his feet wet into acting, he didn't pursue it as a career until 2021 when several acting schools made their classes virtual due to the COVID19 global pandemic, allowing him the the opportunity to train in several acting disciplines such as the Meisner Technique, how to audition and perform on-camera, conduct scene studies, and perform the Harold long-form improvisation comedy. He has also received extensive training in both performance capture (also known as motion capture) and close quarters battle techniques using rifles and handguns.
He continues his actor training whilst pursuing the privilege of inspired storytelling through characters in film and television, believing that representation and well-written, grounded characters always matters.
