Colin Tilley (born June 27, 1988) is a Grammy-nominated American music video director, commercial director, NFT creator, and filmmaker who has created award-winning work with other artists and companies.
He has written and directed music videos for artists including Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Enrique Iglesias, Zendaya, Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent, Tyga, Lil Wayne, Jason Derulo[1] Diddy, Usher, Rita Ora, Keri Hilson, Cheryl Cole, Wiz Khalifa, and The Band Perry.
Tilley directed, produced, and executive produced his first short film, Mr. Happy, starring Chance the Rapper, in 2014 and is developing several other film projects in Los Angeles, California. He has also directed commercials for Reebok, YSL, Fresh Empire, and Nicki Minaj's perfume "Pink Friday."
Tilley's music video for Kendrick Lamar, "Alright", was nominated for Music Video of the Year for the 2016 Grammys. He has won several awards including Video of the Year at the 2011 BET Awards for Chris Brown's "Look at Me Now" video, Best Male Video at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards for Justin Bieber's "U Smile", Best Direction at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards for Kendrick Lamar's "Alright", and Best Hip Hop Video at the 2015 Video Music Awards for Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda". Tilley won Video of the Year & Best Cinematography at the Camerimage Film Festival in Poland for (Kendrick Lamar "Alright"), and Video of the Year, Best Urban Video, and Best Cinematography at the 2015 UKMVAs for (Kendrick Lamar "Alright").
He was nominated at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Hip Hop Video (Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now") and Best Collaboration Video (Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now"), Director of the Year at the 2014 BET Awards, and Video of the Year for Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" at the 2015 BET Awards.
