- Casting Department
Alexis or "AJ" (she/her) is a Chinese + Jewish Casting Director, born and raised in the Bay Area, CA.
AJ is a Sonoma County native and a Chicago transplant. She attended boarding school for high school and graduated from The Millbrook School in New York. After a year at Chapman University she transferred to The Theatre School at DePaul in Chicago. She graduated from The Theatre School with an interest in dramaturgy and directing and found that after interning at Paskal Rudnicke, she knew that casting was the perfect intersection of those interests. She started at PR with a 3 month internship, and a year later, was offered a full-time Casting Assistant position. In a few short months, AJ was 1 of 2 Casting Associates, handling film and television projects like Shameless, ABC's Mind Games, USA's Sirens, and indie films. By 2016, AJ was lucky to be working alongside Mickie Paskal and Jennifer Rudnicke as a third Casting Director on their team and a member of CSA. After over a decade working and learning at Paskal Rudnicke, AJ left their firm at the conclusion of 2023.
AJ now proudly owns and operates her own casting practice, AJ Links Casting LLC. Throughout her career, AJ has been nominated for numerous Artios Awards and has won 3 for her contribution to the location casting of Lovecraft Country (HBO), The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Aaron Sorkin/Netflix), and The Bear (FX). In January of 2024, AJ won a Primetime Emmy Award for her contribution to the location casting of The Bear.
